Today we’d like to introduce you to Pia Pierre.
Hi Pia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I always knew that I wanted to be in education because of the amazing, inspiring, and dynamic teachers that I had growing up in Tampa. Therefore, I decided to declare my major at Florida State University in Social Science Education. Upon graduation, I was fortunate to secure a teaching position at an A-rated high school in Palm Beach County where I was able to serve as an American/World History teacher, Student Government Advisor, Dean, and eventually an Assistant Principal.
Throughout my teaching career, I was able to continue to grow my pedagogy by obtaining a Master’s in Management and Administration for Educational Programs as well as a Doctorate of Education specializing in Educational Leadership both from Nova Southeastern University. Having a successful career in education that expanded over a decade, I discovered that students were missing one major component; a life coach.
As a youth life coach, I am able to offer parents and students alike best practices to ensure that the student is successful academically and behaviorally. Working with my parents and students as their life coach gives me so much joy. There is no better reward than seeing one of my students reach their goals… it truly defines my why as a youth life coach.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Working with the kids has been a smooth, amazing experience. I would say that my only struggle has been getting the word out about how beneficial and life-changing this process can be.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have the privilege of serving as a youth life coach assisting students in middle and high school in reaching their academic and behavior goals. My specialization is centered on educational goal setting and attainment. I am most proud of the students that I have had the honor of working with and sharing in their successes. Each student participating in my youth life coaching program has the unique experience of creating a personalized goal(s) which has resulted in 100% of goal attainment.
What sets me apart is my expertise in K-12 and my ability to successfully navigate the world of education. The tips, recommendations, and best practices that I share with students and parents are directly correlated to my professional experiences and skill set. I am the educational insider that parents and students did not know they needed.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk-taking is important and scary at the same time. My faith gives me the confidence and understanding that I may walk by faith and not by sight. I am constantly praying before I take the next step. Risk-taking for me is simply believing in God. Everything may not always work out, however, there is always a lesson in the process.
