Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Machin.
Hi Patricia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Since I was little, my earliest memories have always been tied to art, dancing, painting, dressing up, and finding joy in creative expression. I grew up in Cuba, and I was lucky that my family nurtured this side of me and I was able to study several disciplines like Ballet, Fine Arts, and Set and Costume Design. In my 20’s I made de decision to move to Miami looking for a better future. For a while I worked in retail and customer service, but I found myself craving a deeper connection to art, and wellness, and education where my ways to go back to it while working as a multidisciplinary freelance artist/designer in my free time. That’s when I began to notice how much people needed spaces for creativity, connection, and self-expression, and how little appreciation there was for the benefits of the creative process. That realization inspired me to start hosting art workshops with Leom Wellbeing called Art Flow, which eventually grew into Muse&Flow. What began as a passion project has become a way to design creative experiences for companies, communities, and private events. It’s also given me the chance to combine all my studies and experiences into something unique and meaningful. Today, Muse&Flow brings me so much joy because it allows people to disconnect, bond, and create without judgment, while giving me the chance to live my purpose every day, and it has also been an outlet for me to showcase my abilities and be part of creative projects I always dreamed of doing, like Book Illustration and Creative Direction.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the hardest decisions I made was leaving a steady job at a prestigious luxury brand to pursue something that gave me a deeper sense of purpose. For a while, I juggled multiple jobs, using my free time to experiment, test, and practice until I found something that truly made sense. Being my own boss has been both exciting and a huge commitment. I’ve had to step into areas of business that weren’t my strengths, like website building and marketing, but I’ve learned to adapt, grow, and keep moving forward. I’m proud of myself for not giving up and for embracing every mistake or detour as part of the process. Most of all, I’m grateful for the support of my partner, family, and friends who believe in me and remind me to stay true to my calling to create and inspire.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Muse&Flow, I love to design workshops that are unique in a way that feels natural and enjoyable. From group murals to mindful painting, each session is meant to be meaningful and approachable, and my experience, form drawing, painting, design, sewing, education, project management, etc, allows me to play and create something special each time. I also continue working as a multidisciplinary artist, creating everything from murals to book illustrations like the most recent toddler book How Come I Love You So Much by Sue Lopiano. These projects remind me how art has the power to shape everyday life, whether through a story for children or a wall that brightens a community.
What makes my work unique is the balance of creativity, connection, and authenticity. I’m a deeply empathic person who enjoys bringing energy into teams, families, and projects. Human connection is powerful, and art can be a tool to express, bond, and be present. I believe creativity is a divine ability we all share, and embracing it could be the key to building a happier, healthier future.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see creativity and wellness becoming even more important in both workplaces and daily life. My dream is to keep inspiring people and creating experiences that bring them closer to art and to each other. Right now, I’m developing the Muse&Flow Art Kit and some books and publications, which will allow me to reach beyond local workshops and connect with people nationwide. I look forward to building a team of talented, like-minded people to carry this vision to new places, making creative experiences more accessible. At the same time, I want to continue expanding my own artistic practice, contributing to meaningful projects in film, theater, literature, and beyond. For me, the goal is to keep aligning my work with my calling: creating and inspiring people with art that transforms.
