Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathanael Clerveaux-Jean.
Hi Nathanael, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Nathanael, but everyone knows me as **Nati** (pronounced *Na-tee*).
My story begins at home and in church. I am Haitian, born and raised in Broward County, Florida, and my faith has always been the foundation of who I am. Growing up, my father was an incredibly talented pianist and keyboardist. He is the reason I fell in love with music. Whether he was playing at church or taking our family on trips, he showed me how music and travel could bring people together. Today, I love every aspect of music—from playing instruments and creating mixes to dancing and experiencing different sounds from around the world.
As I got older, Konpa became my first musical love after gospel. My very first dance partner was actually a broomstick because dancing to Konpa while cleaning somehow made every chore more enjoyable.
When I attended Florida Atlantic University (FAU), I became fully immersed in Haitian and Caribbean culture. Through organizations like Konbit Kreyol, Neg Kreyol, Inc., and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., I was able to build lifelong relationships, strengthen my leadership skills, and become known within my community as both a dancer and a leader. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, but my passion for culture and music continued to grow alongside my professional career.
In March 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I joined KOTR. Looking back, it was one of the most transformative experiences of my life as a dancer. It challenged me to grow not only in skill and technique but also in discipline, humility, and maturity. More importantly, I found another family—people who shared the same passion for preserving and elevating the art of Konpa.
As my journey continued, I earned the nickname **”The Konpa King”** and was even recognized by many as one of Broward County’s best Konpa dancers (humbly, of course). I’ve had the opportunity to perform in numerous music videos and on concert stages alongside artists such as Rutshelle Guillaume, Arly Larivière, TJo (Joseph Zenny), and Guy Wewe. I have hosted many FREE classes before at FAU spreading the culture as well. Those experiences inspired me to study Konpa on a deeper level and ultimately sparked my passion for becoming a DJ.
My DJ career began in a small apartment during the pandemic alongside Joe, better known as **Ti Joe**. Without him serving as my mentor, I honestly would not be a DJ today. He gave me my first DJ controller and a laptop, providing me with the tools that launched my career. Eventually, I opened my first business called M&N Produc2ions with my partner DJ Manno. We DJ all types events such as Weddings, showers, graduations, , birthdays, concerts, parties, restaurants, and lounges.
From there, I continued growing within the Haitian community and the Haitian Music Industry (HMI). What I love most about DJing is the ability to blend music, control the energy of a crowd, and create unforgettable experiences. There’s something special about reading a room and connecting people through sound. To me, music is one of the few universal languages that truly brings people together.
Becoming an international DJ and travel influencer has exposed me to countless cultures and musical styles across the globe. Every destination has expanded my appreciation for music and reinforced my belief that culture is best experienced through people, food, dance, and sound. So far, I’ve traveled to five of the world’s seven continents, and I’ll soon be adding a sixth to that list.
Everything I’ve experienced—from growing up in church and in Broward County, to attending FAU, to visiting more than 25 countries—has shaped the person I am today. Those experiences have fueled my mission: to create spaces where people from different backgrounds can connect, experience new cultures, and build meaningful relationships. Music makes that possible, which is why I love what I do.
Today, I am one the founder of 3 brands: “M&N Produc2ions”, **Essence of Gouyad Weekend** and **Jetsettas**.
**Essence of Gouyad Weekend** has grown into the largest Haitian summer weekend experience in Orlando. Unlike a typical Konpa weekend, our mission goes beyond hosting parties. We intentionally create safe, welcoming, and authentic spaces where people can come together to dance, connect, and celebrate Haitian culture. Next year July, 2027 we will have our 5th year anniversary.
Every year, attendees travel from Canada, New York, Boston, South Florida, and even Europe to be part of the experience. Under one roof, different cultures collide, friendships are formed, and people naturally learn new styles of Konpa simply by sharing the dance floor. Watching those moments unfold reminds me exactly why I started this journey—to unite people through music, movement, and culture.
Jetsettas is a South Florida based travel community and tour operator that curates group trips and community events. Rather than just booking a destination, Jetsettas creates experiences where community is the centerpiece. We do this by bringing people together for multi-day getaways and hosting gatherings closer to home, all handled with the real logistics of a licensed tour operator behind the scenes. The mission is simple: make unforgettable travel accessible, one trip at a time.
M&N Produc2ions is my DJ business. We provide quality DJ services for a very affordable cost. We play any genre and we can accommodate to any crowd with MC services to! We provide Sound and lighting as well! We never have complaints, ever!
That is my story. God Bless!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not an easy road at all. I almost lost my life back in 2019 in a really bad car accident however, God spared me and I left the accident without a scratch. That was right before covid so it was really a whole reset of putting my head down and grinding back to the place I wanted to be while appreciating life everyday because it could be gone within matter of seconds. Depending on God is what got me through College and post college! Know providing for my family and others who depends on me is what keeps me going!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Outside of my 3 business as DJ, event coordinator and Tour operator, I work as an accountant for Cardiovascular and sleep apnea diagnostic company to help prevent any possible health issues. So within all of my businesses I am the CFO or the COO.
What sets me apart from others is that I am so versatile. I have experience in almost everything.
I have experience in Corporate, Sales, Mechanics, Customer service, Event coordination, Marketing/Media, food and food safety, photography/videography, graphic design, & retail. So if you need something, I am most likely your guy or someone who knows a guy!
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up as a Haitian church boy living by the 3 Ls(lekol, Lakay, Leglize). Born and raised up at redemption Baptist church in pompano, FL. I grew up in a tough love household because I grew up with three brothers. We love to play fight, play video games, and we had a little band. We all played some type of instrument. My parents were pretty strict but honestly I’d raise my future kids the same way because we all didn’t come out too shabby. I was also an athlete. I played soccer, basketball, baseball, and track. My main sports were basketball and i was ranked in track qualifying for reginal completions. I definitely was the go getter out of my brothers because if i wanted to something that wasn’t hand me down I would have to go get it. I was mainly a chill guy but loved to laugh and have fun in my teen years.
