Daily Inspiration: Meet Natasha Miñoso

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Miñoso.

Hi Natasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After graduating from UCF in 2015, I decided to pursue a career in book publishing and landed a position at Penguin Random House at the start of 2016. I’ve worked in the digital marketing world for over 6 years now, managing social media channels, building out organic campaigns, and connecting with readers from across the globe.

In addition to this, I have a book blog, Book Baristas, dedicated to sharing what I’m reading, bookstores I’m frequenting, and the occasional travel post. Book Baristas has opened the door to so many amazing book opportunities, and has led me to meet incredible people who love reading as much as I do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think a huge part of the industry I’m in comes with making connections — struggling with social anxiety made this a bit difficult, but I’ve been learning a lot about myself and how managing anxiety is just a daily part of life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a senior marketing manager at Penguin Random House, managing the corporate social channels, briefing content with our design team, scheduling across channels, and building out the editorial calendar. I’m proud of the team that I work with, and their dedication to diversity and equity across channels, as well as internally.

I think I add a unique perspective, having started as a book blogger, learning about the consumer by being a loyal reader myself, and figuring out what readers want to see from publishers on social.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
I think taking risks forces you to leave your comfort zone. That being said, I think it’s important to know your limits and boundaries, so I’m an avid, calculated risk-taker supporter.
