Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Tablada
Hi Monique, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It’s amazing how Motiv8 Dance Movement started from a simple summer project I took on to help a group of dancers find a temporary studio space. What began as a temporary arrangement has now evolved into a permanent project that I am fully committed to, and it’s wonderful to see us becoming a hub for master classes in Miami. Our mission is clear. Motiv8 Dance Movement is dedicated to providing dancers with a positive and drama-free environment, and the commitment to offering supplemental training outside the regular dance curriculum. Our focus is on bringing in master choreographers and coaches on a regular basis and we are dedicated to providing dancers with new challenges and learning opportunities. Master classes are open to all dancers, not just studio members, with the emphasis on making dance training accessible to all dancers in the community providing dancers with the best opportunities to train and grow!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We’ve encountered some difficulties because of the competitive dance market in Miami. A lot of studios have strict rules regarding outside training, which can be quite restricting for dancers. I genuinely believe in offering access to classes and additional training for all dancers, especially when their home studio might not provide a specific style. I understand that my perspectives may not align with those of the established studios in the area., but
That has not stopped us! We are fully committed and will continue to advocate for inclusive training opportunities for all dancers!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have had an impressive 21-year career in higher education and hold a degree in Business and Higher Education Management. I am dedicated to helping others achieve their educational and training goals. Serving as a mentor and role model to many is truly my passion. My experience and dedication have had a positive impact on countless individuals throughout my career. I plan on continuing to inspire many more in the upcoming years and through this movement.
