Daily Inspiration: Meet Martha Ramirez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Martha Ramirez.

Hi Martha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m from Bogotá Colombia, I arrived in Miami 5 years ago

I started in my house but it was for a short time, with little money, every time I could I bought more colors of nail paint for my clients, I learned the technique of Russian manicure and I perfected myself in that then I included drawings and designs I had never done nail art, I was very limited by my age since when I started working on my own I was 47 years old! I had already done it in my country but here it was quite a challenge starting because I didn’t know the language, but I had the support of my husband who motivated me to do it! I started with few clients in my house then I shared a space in a commercial premises with another person and then I grew to rent my own place, it was an office and there was born a Cute And Nace Nail Art Studio, it was not a nail salon it was a more private place where you receive more treatment then my daughter came to work with me, now we have two more people who also make art and we have the best comments on Google!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest challenge was to make my way into an industry that already had a lot of competition but the idea of a somewhat more personalized nail art studio was a great idea

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a nail artist! I work with my daughter who has an incredible talent for drawing on nails, we specialize in making all kinds of nail art, whatever you can imagine we can capture it on your nails

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
