Daily Inspiration: Meet Margarita

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margarita.

Hi Margarita, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Here’s a brief life story based on what you shared:

At 24, I packed my life into suitcases and moved to the USA—chasing a future I could only dimly imagine. I studied hard, became a certified medical assistant, and stepped into healthcare ready to help others. Then COVID hit. Like so many, I witnessed burnout, grief, and the fragile edges of the system up close. Somewhere in the exhaustion, I realized: I was healing everyone but myself. So I made a bold pivot. I traded scrubs for brush sets, stethoscopes for lipsticks, and dove into the world of makeup artistry. Now, I don’t just make people look beautiful—I remind them (and myself) that transformation isn’t just about survival. It’s about choosing joy.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

For the past 16 years, life has been a storm of hard work and beautiful chaos. I had my first baby, studied late into the night, worked to provide, and dove headfirst into new cultures and a new language. There was so much stress—but also unforgettable adventures. Through it all, I learned that struggles aren’t there to break us; they push us forward. Today, I can finally say: I am happy with who I’ve become.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Ever since childhood, I’ve loved to draw. A pencil and paper was all I needed to lose myself in joy. Art and fashion always inspired me, sparking ideas that never really went away. Today, as a makeup artist, I’ve found my own canvas. Makeup isn’t just a job—it’s my way of being an artist. Not in a gallery, not on a stage, but in my own way, on my own terms. I’m proud that I was able to start something I truly enjoy—especially in a new country. At first, it was all about survival: learning the language, working hard, taking care of my family. There was no room for dreams, only for getting by. But little by little, I built a foundation. And once I could breathe, I didn’t forget what made me feel alive. I became someone who does what she loves. That’s the part I’m most proud of.
What sets me apart from others is simple: I don’t want to hide a woman’s beauty—I want to highlight it. So many makeup styles try to cover, correct, or change. But I see makeup differently. I look at a face and think, “What’s already beautiful here?” Then I bring that out. A glow, a curve, a natural flush. I’ve learned that true artistry isn’t about transforming someone into something else—it’s about helping her recognize herself, and love what she sees.

What’s next?

“My plan is to growing as a professional and keep learning—technical and business skills. Eventually I’d love to open my own studio, but that’s a 5–10 year goal. Right now, I’m fully focused on doing great work here and building the reputation that will make
