Daily Inspiration: Meet Lindsey Capron

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Capron.

Lindsey Capron

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Upon coming to South Florida in 2017 after getting married, I really didn’t have a plan for what I was going to do next. I had a 10 year background in pharmacy but I knew that I didn’t want to continue it and wanted something that would express my creativity more. In November 2017, I was led to start a faith based blog talking about my Christian faith.

I was certain about my faith based blogging path. It opened up doors to speak at conferences and events on a local and international level but I never in a million years thought that it would lead to web design. In fact, getting into to web design felt like it happened on accident.

One day while doing routine maintenance on my blog, I ended up breaking my website. With no money and very little resources, I spent hours upon hours fixing it. While fixing my blog, I discovered that not only did I have a passion for writing but also an eye for designing aspect of websites as well. In a few months time, I had other women asking me to design their faith based websites.

By the time 2020 came, I was able to establish my own business helping not only other faith based bloggers with their websites but also small businesses and brands as well with clean, modern, and minimalistic web designs. Today, I’ve designed web sites for more than a dozen brands and businesses and still continue to today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’d be lying if I said that the road was smooth. In fact, my journey was filled with a lot of mistakes, delays, anxiety and lessons. One big struggle for me was dealing with imposter syndrome (feeling like you’re a fake or fraud) while having to show and prove that you are capable and competent to do the work. Also, comparing my success and journey to others was a struggle for me as well.

Becoming an entrepreneur and the learning curve of starting, developing, and managing your own business was a struggle for me as well. I realized that certain mindsets need to be shifted when it comes to clients, marketing, budgeting, and other things that come with running a business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a blogger and web designer, I’m often known for many things. Not only am I known for my online content as a faith-based blogger, I’m also known as web designer who give high end experiences and design. Most proud of my past clients who have excelled and succeeded in growing their business or brand knowing that I helped designed their digital space to showcase their offers, gifts, and talents to their audience.

I realize that dealing with tech can be frustrating and scary to some clients. What sets me apart from others that I enjoy helping my clients have autonomy over their digital space on the internet. I believing in working smarter, not harder and want to present not only an excellent website but to also teach them how to manage their website in simple steps.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I don’t proclaim to be an expert at everything because of the journey that I’m on. However, I do have my favorite resources that I go to that inspire me and help me do my best work:

– Prayer/Bible Reading (non-negotiable)
– Canva
– Affinity Design Suite
– The Big Cat Creative Blog
– SquareSpace (my favorite web platform to design on)
