Daily Inspiration: Meet Lianne Torres

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lianne Torres.

Lianne Torres

Hi Lianne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My story started from a very dark moment in my life. I was in a physically and emotionally abusive relationship during the 2020 pandemic and almost lost my life at the hands of my abusive ex-boyfriend. Going through something like that completely changed my life. What I didn’t know at the time was how impactful that experience would later be.

In the process of my healing journey from that and other past traumas, I created my podcast called “Watch Us Thrive” to be a place where I could freely talk about my past life experiences. Since I started my podcast in 2022, it’s grown into a beautiful & safe platform where I feature stories of survival and how others have been able to turn their past pain into power.

I’ve also become a Personal Development Coach who helps women overcome and heal from toxic and/or abusive relationships and work on rebuilding the relationship with themselves. When we find ourselves in those toxic relationships, we tend to lose ourselves in the process. I’m committed to helping women find their inner magic and thrive because we all have that deep inside.

It’s been a beautiful journey to witness how my brand has grown and evolved as I have. What was once the scariest moment of my life that I didn’t think I would survive has been the catalyst for my personal development journey and I am so proud of the woman I have turned into. I want others to know that if I did it, they can too!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course not!

Building a business from the ground up is never a smooth and easy process, especially as a solopreneur. It’s been an ongoing journey for me since day one. There have been moments where I wanted to throw in the towel and give up. There have been moments where I got burnt out because I was doing entirely too much for one person. There are moments now when I’m still figuring out what and how to do things. However, at the end of the day, remembering WHY I started is what keeps me going.

When I receive emails, messages, and reviews from listeners on how impactful an episode was or how helpful a post I put up on social media has been, that makes all of the past struggles worth it. At the end of the day, the mission behind my business is what drives me to continue showing up for my community. I just want to be a beacon of light for other survivors of trauma & abuse to know that there IS a beautiful life to live after going through some of the darkest moments.

You have the power within yourself to make that happen and that’s what I want to show the world by sharing my story and the stories of others. It’s been such a healing process for my journey that I don’t take it for granted, even with the bumps in the road that show up from time to time. I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Personal Development Coach and Podcast Host of “Watch Us Thrive”, the ultimate personal development podcast that helps you reconnect with your inner magic and transform your life.

Watch Us Thrive is a platform where guests share their own stories of triumph. My guests & I inspire and insights that resonate with listeners seeking personal growth. At Watch Us Thrive, we passionately support listeners in healing from their own life experiences and turning their pain into power. The podcast provides a safe space for having tough, taboo conversations and is committed to being a voice for the voiceless.

My private, 1:1 coaching program is geared toward women who have experienced toxic and abusive relationships. Through this program, I help guide individuals in reclaiming their inner magic and emerging stronger than ever before.

What sets me apart is my transparency and authenticity. I don’t sugarcoat sh*t for myself, so I wouldn’t do that for anyone else. I stand on sharing all parts of me and my story, the good, the bad & the ugly and that’s how I’ve been able to build a solid community. That’s what I’m most proud of… being myself and holding on to who I am. I’m so proud of who I am today. The old Lianne is, too.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Whew… where do I even begin!? Like I said earlier, I was in an abusive relationship during the 2020 pandemic. I’ve learned A LOT about myself since then. To keep it short and sweet, I’ve learned what it means to truly love myself. I’ve learned what it means to value my worth.

I’ve learned what it means to have a healthy relationship with myself and to not seek validation and “love” from toxic men… It took me a while to get there, but if I hadn’t gone through what I went through back then, I wouldn’t be the woman I am today. So for that, I’m grateful.
