Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Dibut
Hi Leah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story pretty much starts at 6-7 years old in Hialeah, Miami. My parents had gifted me a karaoke machine for Christmas that I had asked for forever. Finally, I get my hands on it and start singing my behind off.. as I sang my parents went realizing that I can hit a note and hold it. Around 9-10 years old I start to figure out that I love music so much. At 11 years old I start taking Singing and Piano lessons as I at the same time move to a different town in South Florida. When I was also 11 I moved to Palm beach County. Forever grateful for that decision. Ever since I’ve been preparing myself for the big lights.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think you can get past this industry without having some hiccups along the road. All I can say to that is that we need those moments to feed the hunger and hustle more.. some people and situations wether you know it or not in the moment is actually helping you. From each rough experience I’ve had I always try to pick out the best thing I’ve learned from it and use it for the next project if I could in the most positive way. And to the people that don’t believe… it’s soo normal and i’m learning to accept it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Artist/Singer. That means that I am also a recording artist. The name artist is not as easy of a name to carry around. And artist is many things.. we are videographers, editors, bosses, stylist, makeup artists etc… we take on so many roles because we care so much about every detail. In my opinion THAT is a true artist. Someone that is willing to do it all no matter what to be successful in what they truly love doing. I think what I am most proud of is the progression in my sound and as a person. I am constantly trying to perfect my work. To the way I sound, look like, talk like.. I pay attention to each and every detail. I always say that If I sound like how I did a year ago and there is no progression then there is something wrong going on.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me comes from within. Nothing in the physical world impresses me enough. I’m someone that works from the inside out. If we aren’t good within ourselves how on earth will we conquer the physical world? Success is happiness with myself.
Success is the health I carry.
Success is the relationship I hold with my peers.
Success to me are the most “simple” things in life 🙂
