Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Skrobe
Hi Jason, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Jason Skrobe’s career began in the fast-paced world of New York City, where he worked in commercial interior design for high-end fashion brands. His designs combined style and functionality, but over time, the repetitive nature of designing one flagship store and then replicating it for dozens of locations left him craving something new. On weekends, Jason was introduced to NYC’s nightlife scene by Richard Wheeler of Lavo, which sparked a fascination with the vibrant energy and creativity of event spaces.
A chance trip to Miami marked the turning point in Jason’s journey. While there for a photo shoot promoting a liquor-infused ice pop he had patented, Jason’s friend, Randall Sanchez, Miami’s top nightlife director, convinced him to stay. In a “true Miami” moment, Jason woke up the next morning in a new apartment with a signed lease—a decision he had no recollection of making. For the next five years, Jason immersed himself in Miami’s nightlife industry, mastering the art of hosting and promotion.
When the pandemic struck, Jason returned to his roots but soon found himself exploring a new passion: event production. His deep understanding of design, marketing, and the intricacies of nightlife proved invaluable as he stepped into this new role. While working with NoFace Records and its founder, Max Vangelli, Jason helped bring the label back to prominence after the industry’s COVID-19 hiatus. It was during this time that Jason conceived Music Meets Art, an innovative event series that merges live music and visual arts into a single immersive experience.
Jason’s first major Music Meets Art event took place at Spy Scape NYC, an interactive spy museum spanning an entire city block. Despite the challenges of organizing the event while simultaneously managing Max Vangelli’s performance at PHD NYC on the same night, both events were a success. This experience solidified Jason’s vision for Music Meets Art and his determination to scale it into a larger platform.
After this milestone, Jason decided to take a step back and live out another dream: restoring a classic sailboat and living on it in Lake Boca. This period of reflection didn’t last long, however, as Max Vangelli invited him to help produce a new NoFace Records event series. With Art Basel Miami approaching, Jason saw an opportunity to relaunch Music Meets Art on a grander scale. In just three weeks, he assembled a powerhouse team, including Irv Ortega’s TMJ ArtGroup, renowned artist Kenny 101, and Forbes Magazine, along with key collaborators Favia at Astra and The Moon in Wynwood. With the support of Zakuska Vodka, owned by his friend Arthur, the event was made possible. The December 6th event was a resounding success, drawing over 2,500 attendees and cementing its place as a highlight of Art Basel.
Now, Jason is focused on evolving Music Meets Art into its next chapter, Electric Art, with plans to expand the concept to larger venues and festivals, featuring top artists across various creative fields. Simultaneously, he has joined the team at Daer Nightclub to help promote and market their events. Adding to his multifaceted pursuits, Jason has also taken on a role as a volunteer first responder with the Boca Raton Fire Department—a testament to his commitment to giving back to the community.
Jason’s story is one of reinvention, creativity, and boundless energy. From designing luxury spaces to creating unforgettable nightlife experiences, he has built a career defined by vision and versatility. Looking ahead, he’s poised to bring Music Meets Art to even greater heights, continuing to bridge the gap between art, music, and unforgettable experiences.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
During the rise to the top, there were countless struggles and challenges along the way. One of the biggest hurdles was finding a trusted crew and reliable partners. In this industry, it’s tough to find colleagues who are genuinely committed to doing their share of the work. Many simply want to partner up to ride on your coattails and have their name associated with your success. The key to overcoming this, Jason believes, is to stay relentless—keep going, tune out the negativity, and trust your instincts. “Take your lessons, keep moving forward, always forward—never look back,” he emphasizes. Now after years of work i have been able to find my trusted partners and home with Max Vangelli and NoFace Records.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Creating Music Meets Art stands as one of the greatest accomplishments of my career, a realization of a vision I had nurtured for years. Now, I’m evolving it into its next phase of development: Electric Art. I’ve always felt there was something missing from traditional club and festival performances—a way to truly engage every sense. My goal is to create an immersive experience and performance unlike anything the world has ever seen.
While the event has achieved incredible milestones, it has yet to reach its full potential. But when it does, it will be something unforgettable—an experience that redefines what live entertainment can be.
Taking a role at NoFace Records has been the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Seventeen years ago, I attended my first major EDM concert—Tiesto at Atlantic City Convention Hall. Standing in the front row, surrounded by the energy of the crowd, I locked eyes with Tiesto, and in that moment, I knew I wanted to be part of that world. I didn’t know how, but I was certain I would find a way to make it happen.
Now, 17 years later, I have the privilege of producing events for NoFace Records and helping to run the label. After the tremendous success of our Art Basel event, Max Vangelli asked me to take on the role of managing him and several other NoFace artists, recognizing my unparalleled dedication and relentless work ethic. It’s a full-circle moment that proves hard work and passion can turn dreams into reality.
