Today we’d like to introduce you to Ihsan Muhammad.
Hi Ihsan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
His Royal Highness Transportation started with a dream long before there were resources. At 18, I told my mother I was going to be a millionaire one day—even though we didn’t even have a family car. I used to spend hours at Barnes & Noble reading Robb Report, imagining what it would be like to live a life of elegance and excellence. I would go on the Mercedes-Benz website and design my dream S-Class, not knowing how, but believing one day it would happen.
That vision stuck with me. Over the years, I worked hard, learned from the ground up, and paid attention to the kind of service that truly moves people—not just physically, but emotionally. His Royal Highness Transportation was built to offer that level of care and class. Not just a ride, but an experience.
We’re still growing, but the mission remains the same: to deliver the type of service I once only dreamed of—elegant, personal, and unforgettable.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. His Royal Highness Transportation has been a journey of faith, bootstrapping, and learning as we go. With no outside funding, I’ve had to build everything from scratch—vision first, resources second. Every step has been about figuring things out in real time: branding, partnerships, pricing, operations—often while juggling other responsibilities just to keep things moving forward.
One of the toughest moments was when I secured an incredible opportunity with an NBA player who agreed to use our service free of charge, in exchange for us capturing promotional content. It was a major breakthrough—real validation from someone with influence. But when the time came, I couldn’t deliver. I wasn’t able to financially secure the vehicle he requested on the date he needed it. That moment was humbling. It reminded me that great ideas need great execution, and that takes more than just passion.
Even through the setbacks, I haven’t stopped believing. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s shaping me, and this company for the long run.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently work in private security, where I help safeguard the homes of high-profile individuals, including AJ Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Paul George and Andre Drummond of the Philadelphia 76ers. My role is to ensure their properties remain secure while they’re away or engaged in their professional commitments. I also work with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) in the rail division.
Before this, I served as Director of Operations at a residential reentry facility run by Volunteers of America, supporting adult men transitioning from incarceration back into society. That experience deepened my commitment to service, accountability, and human potential.
What I’m most proud of is helping people believe in themselves again—pushing others, and myself, to strive beyond mediocrity and into excellence. His Royal Highness Transportation is an extension of that mindset: creating a brand that reminds people to move with purpose, dignity, and ambition.
What sets me apart is that I never quit. I’ve made mistakes, faced setbacks, and failed more than once, but I’ve never stopped learning or showing up. My pursuit of excellence is relentless, not because I’ve always had the answers, but because I’m committed to becoming better every single day.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advice is simple: stay humble, stay curious, and stay visible. I’ve learned that mentorship isn’t always formal; it often shows up in the form of conversations, books, YouTube interviews, or people you observe from a distance. Early on, I didn’t have access to influential mentors, but I made Barnes & Noble my classroom and platforms like Robb Report my teacher.
What’s worked well for me is showing up with genuine respect and a willingness to learn. Whether I’m around professionals in transportation, security, or entrepreneurship, I try to listen more than I speak and offer value where I can.
And don’t be afraid to reach out. I’ve had doors open from a single message or introduction. Not everyone will respond, but the right ones will—and those connections can shift everything.
Above all, mentorship starts with being someone worth mentoring. Keep doing the work. Keep growing. The right people will find you.
