Today we’d like to introduce you to Hebe Lozano.
Hi Hebe, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a musician, Cuban classical guitar player. Came to US 17 years ago, and I was teaching houses to houses, until I decided to open my own music school. So I opened HENA MUSIC AND ART ACADEMY with my sister. We love to teach and to lead such a wonderful environment. We opened the academy 7 years ago, and right now we have over 100 students. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
7 months after we opened the Covid came. There were 85 students and 50 decided to stay online. So, we were doing classes throughout zoom. We have many other obstacles, but they were just part of the process of growing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We teach music and art. Private and group classes. We try to find the valance between classical and popular music, as well as programs which includes Jewish music, Cristian music, in general music from everywhere. Our main goal is to help the kid’s development throughout music, and bringing to the life skills and enjoyment
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
The mayor risk is implementing regulations to make the business work in a better functional way. Automation of our system was hard; clients tend to avoid fees…
