Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Quick.
Hi Heather, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have a complicated story. I started my journey as an Elementary Teacher with my first full time job in Las Vegas, Nevada at a Bilingual School. I eventually moved to Bozeman, Montana (my ex-husband’s home state). His family owned a public golf course. I worked there from time to time. I worked as a Preschool teacher, a substitute teacher for many seasons off and on, a dispatcher briefly for a tow truck company, and eventually a customer service rep for a vacation rental insurance company. When the corporation decided to relocate the CSR job to Kansas City, I had to start over finding a job. There wasn’t many options to choose from in Bozeman, Montana. Teaching jobs were hard to acquire given the University being right there and job field being very competitive. I saw an ad to become a Massage Therapist in 4 months so I signed up for the course. I wanted to help people one on one and actually make a difference in their lives with stress, anxiety, depression, pain, overall wellness. So in 2016 I was a Certified Massage Therapist. In 2017 I was a Licensed Massage Therapist and my first job was at Massage Envy. I learned to improve my skills, add more skills, and observe how a business is runed. In 2018 I added Medical Massage Practitioner and Certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage. And then Massage Envy closed its door one day in Bozeman. So I went into business for myself and started Aqua Bliss Massage. I opened my doors in September of 2018 and stayed open until April 2024. I wanted to relocate to Homestead Florida. The kids were all grown and off on their own and I wanted warmer weather. I love Homestead. It is in just the perfect spot. If you want to go to Miami or the Keys, its a short drive in either direction. I found a location that I was able to set up Aqua Bliss Massage in September 2025. I have a space inside Witherell Chiropractic Health Center.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest difficulty is locating a place to rent in Homestead Florida. There are not a lot of locations available for a small business to establish themselves. It also takes awhile for clients to discover my practice. I am not in the Keys and I am not in Miami. Homestead is growing, but cost of business locations are very costly and hard to find.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love being a Massage Therapist. I specialize in Swedish Massage and Medical Massage. I like to talk to my clients before their session to get a sense of what their goals are for their time. I incorporate what I have learned to address their goals. Some want to relax, some want relief from pain. I like to focus on calming the central nervous system. I like to find the “knot” that is causing the disruption to the body. I like helping someone with frozen shoulder, rotator cuff, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, PTSD, Prenatal, and aromatherapy. What sets me apart from others is my background. I grew up an Army Dependent so I am familiar with the challenges that come from the military mentally and physically for the whole family. I am a Mother of three so I am familiar with the challenges that come from raising children mentally and physically. I have worked over 40hrs sitting at a desk so I am familiar with the challenges that come from desk jobs mentally and physically. I like to crochet and cross stitch as a hobby so I am familiar with challenges that come from strain and repetitive movements. I like to walk or jog/run as a hobby so I am familiar with injuries and muscle pain.
How do you think about happiness?
I find happiness in many things. Nature, Ocean, Animals, Family, Hobbies, Relationships, etc.
