Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelyn.
Hi Evelyn , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
To talk about my story will take some time, but to do it briefly I can say that I am from Havana, Cuba. Studied classical ballet in the Cuban National Ballet School, and started my dance career as a ballet dancer. Did it for a few years and then I transitioned to the Cuban Television Ballet Company, where I learned Latin Dancing, Afrocuban, Jazz, Musical Theater, and in general more commercial dancing and what dancing for television was. I moved to the US in 2013 and ever since i have lived in Miami, where I have taken my career to another level. here i have learned more of the commercial dancing as well as the street dancing. My universe as a professional dancer has expanded from Television Shows, to Music Videos, Commercial Campaigns, Theater Shows, and one of the most important expansion in my career is choreographing and starting my own company, ShowBizz by Evelyn Robaina. How i got where I am is the fruit of hard work, perseverance, love and passion for what I do and lots of discipline.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Mine has not been a smooth road at all. I started dancing when i was 10 years old, and in multiple times throughout my career I’ve been told that I am not good enough or not the right fit. Multiple times I have seen other dancers being chosen just because they are friends with someone, or their families have influence. I have also been injured multiple times, I have been rejected from castings and competitions. I had to leave my country in a peak moment of my career and with that leave dance behind for a little bit just to survive. So challenges, I have faced many, but, the number one obstacle I have worked on overcoming, is my own mind and my own believes. My love for this art is so great that I have never contemplated doing anything else. So I have worked really hard to overcome fear and self doubt. I have worked on my own self worth and that is what has gotten me to where I am today. Never given up on me and my dreams.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Creative Director, Choreographer, and Professional Dancer, and the founder of ShowBizz by Eve — a boutique live entertainment production company based in Miami. We specialize in curated performances for corporate events, luxury hospitality, private celebrations, and on-camera projects. What makes us different is that we don’t just provide talent — we develop a concept from idea to full execution, overseeing every creative and logistical detail of a live show.
My background is in dance performance, so that’s at the core of everything we do. But because I also work as a Creative Director, our greatest strength is building immersive live experiences that combine multiple art forms — dance, live music, and specialty acts — into one seamless production. We’ve produced themed shows across the spectrum: Latin nights, Havana Nights, Roaring 20s, 70s Disco, and beyond.
There are so many moments I am proud of, but a few stand out. Choreographing the Miss Universo pre-shows was a landmark. Creating Kubaret — a multi-segment dinner show at Kubabana Doral — was one of those projects where everything I love about this work came together: concept, choreography, live performance, and full creative ownership. More recently, choreographing for multiple galas at the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel, producing recurring live shows at Seaspice Miami for NYE, Art Basel, Halloween, and Race Week, and working on campaigns with Thalia for Mercado Libre and specials for Telemundo have all been deeply rewarding.
But honestly, what I’m most proud of is that, Instead of waiting to be booked, I made a decision — no fear, full commitment — to step into my own power, advocate for other performers, negotiate fair pay, and create the kind of work environments I always wished existed. ShowBizz by Eve became real because of that choice.
I also come with real industry credibility. My work spans television, theater — including the iconic Faena Theater — music videos, commercials, and large-scale live events. That breadth means I understand what excellence looks like across every format, and I bring that standard to every single show.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson has been the power of surrounding yourself with the right people. I used to believe this industry was filled with bad energy and competition, but building ShowBizz by Eve showed me something different — when you lead with integrity and a clear vision, you attract artists who are collaborative, driven, and aligned with your values. The team around you is everything.
I’ve also learned the power of adaptability. This industry demands constant reinvention, and I’ve embraced being a perpetual student — of dance, of business, of life. Staying curious and humble, no matter how much experience you accumulate, is what keeps your work fresh and relevant.
And above all — discipline and consistency. Talent opens doors, but it’s the daily commitment to your craft and your vision that keeps them open. The mind is your most powerful instrument. Once I truly understood that, everything changed.
