Today we’d like to introduce you to Elvira Kogay.
Elvira, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Elvira Kogay. I was born on August 28, 1994. I was born and raised in Almaty, Kazakhstan. I come from a normal family. Since childhood, my sister introduced me to various forms of art. I studied music and art in school and also took dance classes.
When I was studying at MAB College (International Business Academy), my desire to pursue art never left me. I decided to take photography classes. After college, I got a job as an administrator at a Children’s Center, and photography became a hobby for me. While working at the Children’s Center, I enjoyed observing early development classes for children aged 1 to 3 years. I decided to pursue a degree in early childhood education and enrolled in college for that specialization. In my free time from work, I studied art therapy, including techniques such as body therapy and music therapy, and how they help children.
As a teacher of early development and an art therapist, I also studied psychology. I have a strong passion for psychological training and seminars. I am always growing psychologically and spiritually. For me, photo sessions have always been more than just taking pictures. I always want to show girls, boys, and children that they are beautiful and that their flaws and insecurities exist only in their minds and are seen only by them.
As a photographer, I have incorporated light therapeutic techniques from art therapy into my photo sessions. I have observed that people feel happy and inspired after a photo session. It’s amazing to see how people become more confident, start accepting their bodies, and feel connected to themselves.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I know one thing, I want people to be happy! So that month, years later, when they look at their photos, they remember happy moments! Feel happiness.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer with 14 years of experience. In my photographs, I have incorporated body therapy, and I have named it a therapeutic photoshoot.
What makes you happy?
To see the happy faces of other people. Every person needs to be loved and happy. The smile of every person is beautiful, and people should remember that.
