Hi Dawn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Serving up freshly made treats since 2014! The Seattle Barkery became the first of its kind in the PNW, combining food trucks with dogs.
Since then, we’ve added a treat TRAILER, a BAR, as well as a stand-alone SHOP located in the heart of the Emerald city! We are family owned and use local ingredients as well as partner with other passionate, local makers here in the Northwest. We only give the highest quality treats and customer service to each pupstomer!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When owning a business, you are always learning, also with the navigation of covid, staffing issues, social media trends—it can be a LOT to learn and handle. But if you truly love what you do, it is worth it!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We have made over 12k custom Hound Dog Cakes since we first started in 2014! 6k alone this last year, 2o22! We use only dog-safe ingredients in our cakes (of course) but find that customers want them as fancy as a cake for humans which can be a learning curve with our limited ingredients, we strive for success every time and think we have only had 1, maybe 2, unhappy customers out of our 12,000! We want each cake to be the best and I think it shows!
