Daniel Perry obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. His work then took him to Paris to work for Marie Claire magazine. In pursuit of his art, he migrated to New York by way of Hollywood. Currently residing in Palm Beach, FL.
From the fashion, film, and music industries, Daniel Perry has photographed such accomplished personalities as: Andy Warhol, Bill Blass, Bjork, Brian McKnight, Brooke Shields, Carmen Electra, Catherine Deneuve, Cindy Crawford, D’Angelo, Demi Moore, Diane Von Furstenburg, Elizabeth Hurley, Grace Jones, Halston, Heidi Klum, Hillary Swank, Iman, Isabella Rossellini, Ivanka Trump, Jane Fonda, Janice Dickinson, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Nick Lachey, Paloma Picasso, Paris Hilton, Patty LaBelle, Paula Abdul, Rupaul, Russell Simmons, Steve Martin, Sophie Marceau, Tommy Lee, Tyra Banks, Tyson Beckford, Venus Williams, and Yves St. Laurent.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
After moving to Paris, New York, Philadelphia, Nashville, Los Angeles, and Palm Beach all by myself without any resources; it was always a challenge to reestablish myself and thrive. In the world of art, film, and fashion there tend to be larger-than-life personalities that require special attention. In between the artistic highlights boring reality is constantly pending, my work is a reprieve from that.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a fine art and commercial photographer. My fine art pursuits are sponsored by my commercial endeavors. Advertising, editorial, and events are my specialties because my subjects love having their pictures taken and are adaptable to my creative direction. I seek to make my work unique and, in some aspects, resemble fine art. My current focus is on earning the respect of my industry peers, taking photo trips to exotic locales, exhibiting in galleries and museums, teaching, and building my personal art collection.
What does success mean to you?
To accomplish goals in my own way for myself and my clients, drawn through my accumulative artistic experience and unique viewpoint.
