Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Dieudonne
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 2013, I was a senior in high school, and I would always watch my older sister do makeup on herself and her friends. I couldn’t wait to graduate so I could do the same. On the day of my graduation, I wore her powder, and boy, did I look ridiculous—LOL!
Later that summer, after graduating, I started a job and decided to purchase my own makeup to try it on myself. I thought I would become a beauty influencer after watching all my favorite tutorials on YouTube, but God had other plans for me. My friends started asking me to do their makeup, and one day, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and give it a try.
Fast forward to 2018: I started taking makeup seriously, and strangers began reaching out to me to do theirs. In 2020, I went to beauty school, graduated as a full specialist, and officially became a professional makeup artist.
Through faith in God, persistence, and belief in myself, I knew I would grow and improve my craft. Today, I’m proud to say I have a steady clientele, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
They say nothing comes easy, right? There were times when I thought I wouldn’t be where I am today. I would pray and ask God, “Is this really my calling?” There were weeks when I went without any clients. I would sit and think, What am I doing wrong?
One day, I started researching ways to grow my business and increase my clientele, which definitely helped me along the way. Being an entrepreneur is not as easy as it looks—especially when juggling a 9-to-5 job and attending classes five days a week. However, with consistency and a positive attitude, you can definitely make it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a self-taught professional makeup artist and the proud founder of Mour Beauty! I specialize in both natural and full-glam looks. When clients book with me, they often refer to my Instagram and say, “I want that look!”—which is my signature Mour Natural style.
What I’m most proud of is maintaining my humility and consistency throughout my journey. What sets me apart is my deep expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and genuine connection with my clients.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5–10 years, I see myself thriving as a successful bridal makeup artist!
