Daily Inspiration: Meet Ariel Jose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Jose.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Miami ,FL to a Guatemalan mother and Nicaraguan father, which I am grateful for. It is because of them that I am the perfect combination of grit, hard work, and empathy. From the age of 4 I was always into television and acting. My mom took me to my first casting ever at the age of 8. It was for radio Disney , I made it to the final two and one pick away from being the next kid host. I was little too honest with my response and ended up not getting the role. Acting revisited my life during my senior year of high school when I took drama class. After high school , I started hanging out with a bad crowd and I sort of lost myself, lost myself in partying, drugs , girls and making bad decisions. The people that I surrounded myself brought me to a point that I stopped believing in myself. When I was 25 , I finally broke free from those people. I remember stepping into my first television acting class at Universal Casting. Chris Perez was my acting coach, amazing human being and the person responsible for exposing me into acting again. Universal casting saved me and I never looked back. Acting never stopped for me from that point on. Ended up signing with an agent and then the rest followed. My journey in the industry began in music videos , then the commercials followed, and shortly after came feature films . I would have never imagined myself being on tv. When I turned 28 I decided to live in LA. I would stay there for 3 months , return to Miami and then return 3 months again. I did this for two years until I decided to grow my acting career in my hometown to put focus in the Atlanta market. I returned home to pick up on new hobbies like golf, boxing , and writing scripts. I have written two short films and a book during my return here in Miami and this is only the beginning.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say that , life is always teaching you. Just when you think that you have things figured out , you really don’t. Sometimes when I felt that I was strong , impulsive wounds would open. They are things that I have recognized and healed. It helps when you have the right support system. I would find myself loosing my cool and deep down it was simply the pain from my past. Another struggle id say is controlling my ego, being in the entertainment industry for this long , I started to feel like it owed me instead of remembering to love the craft. As we sit here , it’s clear that I am aware and I’ve overcame this. I’m also working on my golf game we will get there Michael haha. Shout out to my friends Nico and Pablo for being my life lines whenever things hit the fan. I also want to thank my friend Leo for helping me through things that I didn’t think were there.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have grown to love serving others through my craft. I am dedicating my craft of acting in helping others own any room that they are in. I’m here to help every single person shine in whatever room it is that they are in , and not through confidence but simply owning who they are without worrying about opinions , without fearing. I always say that it isn’t about the right words , but your intention. I bring that out of them in my coaching using tools that have helped me in acting classes , audition rooms and movie sets. I also wrote a book to get people out of their heads, it’s called “ Escape the Block” check it out.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I have nothing to loose and everything to gain. The worst that they can do is say no , so what do I do? I go for it and ask for forgiveness later.
