Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Lumpkin.
Hi Anthony, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started in 1987 when I was raised in Goulds, Florida with my family. My grandparents always instilled morals and principles in our household.
My grandfather, Jacob was the no-nonsense type and was all about hard work along with balancing family time. My grandfather taught me the importance of having a strong work ethic and pursuing entrepreneurial ventures.
This leads me down the path of not only seeking multiple streams of income as well as starting my own businesses. My grandparents were truly the pillar of our blood-related and church family. My Grandmother, Virginia had a love for cooking and bringing people together.
This woman was a loving, praying kind-hearted soul that could do no wrong and when she would grace you with her infectious smile you could do nothing but feel joy when being in her presence. These experiences and relationships inspired me in 2016 to start posting inspirational quotes on social media and aggressively becoming more of an entrepreneur.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the many obstacles that I encountered was losing a job. It was then I realized the importance of working on fulfilling my dreams was the true meaning of living instead of slaving away and exhausting my energy into someone else’s dream.
It was crazy when I reflected on all the hours, networking opportunities, and events I missed out on. A good friend of mine once told me “If you give someone the ability to take food out of your mouth, you lose your control of stability and will find yourself creating bad relationships accompanied by making poor decisions.”
This experience taught me the importance of surrounding myself with people that inspired and motivated me. Changing my environment and being very selective in my circle has changed my life in such a positive manner making my dreams attainable.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
During the day, I work at a company helping nurses find jobs all across the United States. It’s a position I enjoy working because my efforts are recognized and compensated according to my productivity.
The structural setup of this job aligns with my strategy in sharpening my entrepreneurial skills in my other business ventures which include financial management, life insurance, assistance with legal representation, and physical training.
It has also assisted with my training and development program by managing my team of agents working under my life insurance company.
I am known for the inspirational quotes and videos that I circulate on my social media platforms. I want to encourage people to move past their circumstances and inspire them to live their dreams. I have created themes for my inspiration videos to inspire people no matter what challenges they are facing.
For example, Monday’s themes are Motivation Mondays, Tuesdays are Affirmation Tuesday and Wednesdays are Help You Out Wednesday.
I’m most proud of starting this new venture which is coming soon to social media platforms near you in 2022. This business venture is so special in so many ways, especially with the support of my family which contributes to creating generational wealth for my children.
What sets me apart from others is my passion for helping others in shaping their future and achieving their life goals.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was growing up in Miami. I enjoyed the Florida sun and enjoyed all the festivities Miami had to offer.
I can recall the ice cream trucks driving down the street, hearing the music flowing through the screened patio searching for loose change to run down the track to get my favorite snacks.
During these years is where I developed my love for football and accomplished receiving a full scholarship to play college football at South-Eastern Missouri State University.
That lead me to have the opportunity to play professional Arena Football in Texas.
