Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Carvajal
Hi Andrea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I became a lash artist from being interested in make-up artistry and my favorite part were doing the eyes!I was obsessed with eyelashes and lash strips and how the eyes can make such a huge impact to ones face and everyday look.Lash extensions were starting to be more trendy around the time that I started lashing .I began my journey as a lash artist in 2016 ,when I got my first job and training at a well-known lash extension franchise in the Coral Gables area which attracted a lot of different kinds of interesting people .For example I got to learn and experience a lot of different things there in which I worked there for a total of 2 and a half years mastering Classic sets the most basic but still challeging type of lash sets.One of the most impactful moments of working there was that I had the opportunity of doing different kinds of clientle such as:the type of clients that bring their pets to their service(very adorable),the type of clients that are very wealthy and privileged,high maintenance(both a bit stressful at times ,depending on the person).A very fun experience was when I did the lashes of a princess from another country!She was very kind and humble !I’ve also had a male model,a psychic(who would always make predictions for me) ,a client in the adult entertainment industry(she was so down to earth and relatable) , tons of local influencers and became really good friends with one of them.I’ve done a lot of travelers/tourists, a lot of brides ,bridesmaids,models for photo shoots and events.In that sense the area of Coral Gables luckily brought the most diverse type of clients and expierence one could ever endure.In general Miami brings a lot of international and diverse people and that’s exactly what I got to experience working at the locations that I had .Moving right along. I started doing more skin care stuff for two years in the Kendall area with another well known facial franchise company for quite some time until I had another opportunity to contimue doing lashes for a famous franchise from Spain with many locations in Madrid & Malaga which I stayed for approximately around a year and it was getting to be far from where I was located centrally since it’s more towards the area of Broward so I had to leave it ueventually ,however I still gained so much knowledge working there and even did some PMU)Permanent Makeup) I worked for 2 1/2 years in another well known franchise with multiple locations this one in particular was by the Dixie Highway location near Dadeland area and I did a lot of really nice loyal clients and some were able to follow me when I went to another location from the same franchise and then after a year in the other location from that same 3rd franchise that I worked in I started to venture off on my own and I eventually started my own business three years ago and I still have those same loyal clients that stayed with me as clients ,I am very lucky,honored and blessed. here I am today with my amazing business of 3 years where i’m going to be offering some lash mentorship & training along with permanent makeup services and skin care where I hope for more amazing opportunities!I also almost did a famous housewife but maybe I’ll reconnect with her this year and shall see!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some struggles are having constant patience and consistency with a craft as time oriented and as detailed at this profession.To be a great being a lash artist you must value the craft and the artistry over speed,be very detailed oriented and have an eye for symmetry and ALOT of care and patience.Speed is added a little through out the service,but it is never the goal,the outcome is always aimed at beautiful worl and 100% client satisfaction, and knowing what the client needs speciafically for the look,style and eye shape accordingly.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do:I do custom eyelash extensions in mostly Volume sets which are all hand-made.
I specialize in:Cat eye Custom hand-made Volume Sets
I am known for:D curl and adding the most drama and sexiness to the outer part of the eye ,while still giving that sexy eyeliner look and fullness.
I am most proud of:I am most proud of still having my loyal Cliente even after 4-6 years and being able to to run my bussiness for 3 years straight.
What sets me apart from others:I take the time to custom your set and create a handmade lash for each lash to create the fullest and most natural set possible.While still focusing the attention on you as a person and where the lashes would still compliment you first.
How do you think about happiness?
What make me happy truly is being able to create art in a beauty setting in a city where beauty is such a priority,and helping women become stress free at least in the mornings and especiallyfor all my moms this would help them out so much to have the eyes looking perfect and ready to go ,I know it does for me!In general helping others has always been a passion of my mind and using my artistry and creatvity to help create stunning custom lashes is an absolute dream where work doesnt feel like work,while having the most amazing clients to help relax and make beautiful art with in a beautiful manner is and will always be such an honor and bleesing!
