Growing up in Brazil during the 1970s, my passion for the beauty field was ignited at a young age. I was always drawn to it. While my friends were busy buying clothes, I found myself wandering the aisles of drugstores, searching for the perfect facial creams. I was always fascinated by how the products felt and the way they made my skin feel.
When I moved to the United States, I enrolled in an Aesthetic School to learn the basic fundamentals of skin and skincare. However, I soon realized that I wanted to do more than just apply cream and massage clients’ faces. I yearned to make a real difference in the way people looked and felt about themselves. It was then that I knew I needed to gain more knowledge and experience.
With this goal in mind, I got a position at a dermatologist’s office. There, I immersed myself in the field, learning from experts and gaining hands-on experience. It was a turning point that allowed me to deepen my understanding and refine my skills. I was determined to become not only a skincare practitioner but also a trusted advisor in the journey to achieving beautiful, healthy skin.
By integrating a blend of holistic and scientific approaches in the aesthetic field, I was confident I could enhance beauty from the inside out. This experience laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong commitment to helping my clients look and feel their best.
Lavender Facial Bar, born in 2008 within the vibrant culture of North Miami Beach, stands as a testament to my diverse international background and multicultural influences. These facets have not only shaped my approach to skincare but have also enabled me to craft treatments as unique and varied as the individuals I serve.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Reflecting on my career journey, the outset was anything but smooth sailing! I dedicated myself to working seven days a week, driven by a determination to pursue a career in skincare without looking back. Balancing this ambition with the responsibilities of single motherhood presented formidable challenges.
I vividly recall the late nights spent taking my daughter out for dinner after wrapping up at the spa resort where I worked. Closing up shop late into the night was a common occurrence, leaving me utterly drained by the time I returned home. Nevertheless, with the exhaustion, I always prioritized quality time with my daughter.
Mother’s Day was a particularly poignant time for me. I can still recall moments of tears streaming down my face while performing facials, all the while maintaining a composed facade for my client’s sake. (luckily, they didn’t notice my emotional struggles!).
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Today, I’m honored to be the founder and operator of Lavender Facial Bar, a venture I started back in 2008. Here at my skin studio, I focus solely on skincare, offering a unique blend of holistic approaches and scientific methods to ensure remarkable results.
Transforming my clients’ skin brings me tremendous satisfaction, and in doing so, I am also changing lives. By empowering clients with proper skincare recommendations and lifestyle changes, we implement routines that not only improve skin health but also enhance overall well-being. I believe that self-care is essential. In our busy lives, we often forget to prioritize ourselves while taking care of others.

When I’m at the studio, I find solace in the serene ambiance created by spa music playing softly in the background throughout the day. However, during my drives, I immerse myself in podcasts, particularly those within my industry like ASPC Esty Talk. This podcast not only provides me with valuable knowledge but also offers insights into innovative practices that inspire my ongoing growth and development.
