Conversations with Vincent Connor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Connor.

Vincent Connor

Hi Vincent, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Growing up I have always been enamored by music. Drawn to it on many levels. My mother owned a Karaoke bar in Central Florida where I am from so I grew up singing music in multiple genres. Fast forward twenty years and now I am an active Producer, Singer, Director, and Teacher of music.

I currently have a musical that I have written called Mad Hatter The Musical that is Broadway Bound expecting to hit the stage in NY in 2025, with performances in Phoenix and Toronto next year. As a singer, I have a singing group called “EleMenTrio” A Modern Three Tenors group and we travel around the world singing crossover, pop, classical, and musical theatre. As a teacher and producer, I have Co-created The Vienna Summer Music Festival and The London Summer Music Theatre Academy.

Two festivals to provide young artists opportunities to explore their talents in Classical Music and Musical Theatre. Here I provide one-on-one instruction in Vocal Technique. Locally, I regularly sing with my Fiancé Victor Valdez, in South Beach and Wilton Manors at his piano bar shows and I teach local aspiring singers in my home studio.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As an artist, your identity is always changing. For me personally, choosing a path in classical music or commercial music. I do not have a specific skill set in Marketing and Social media, it’s simply a chore that I don’t enjoy.

We are currently balancing politics with other producers of Mad Hatter and legalizing the licensing agreement, navigating through these procedures and politics has been challenging. Coming out as a member of the LGBT community 5 years ago was tough. Finances as a full-time artist are always rough.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a singer, my art usually comes from a place of positivity and uniqueness. in terms of technique created a blended sound of Classical Music and Pop. My mission is to “Change The World One Song At A Time”. I am very proud of cultivating a safe place for young artists to explore their professional endeavors through my music festivals in Vienna and London. I am very proud that my musical Mad Hatter The Musical is Broadway Bound.

A show that combines themes of fantasy and mental health awareness. My relationship with my fiancé is also very special. He is also a beautiful singer, and singing together is particularly magical with the combination of our musical styles.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The Classical Music industry is in constant decline. This is why as an artist I am pivoting more into commercial music and I teach my students mostly Musical Theatre and Popular Music with the foundation of classical technique. Also, I think since the COVID-19 pandemic we as a nation have a better understanding of Mental Health, and The Musical that I have written surrounds this subject matter
