Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara.
Hi Tamara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My path into photography started through art and film. I studied at an art-focused high school in Argentina, where I spent six years surrounded by drawing, design, and visual composition. After moving to Miami, I studied film production, which gave me a deeper appreciation for storytelling, lighting, and the way an image can communicate emotion.
Photography gradually became the place where all of those interests came together. What began as a creative outlet eventually turned into my business. I started photographing people during meaningful moments in their lives, and over time, I found that what I love most is creating images that feel beautiful, personal, and honest.
Today, my work includes family portraits, creative portrait sessions, surprise proposals, first birthdays, and special events. I’m especially drawn to portraiture because every person brings something different to the camera. I love helping people feel comfortable and seen, whether I’m photographing a family on the beach, a couple right after a proposal, or someone stepping into a more editorial, fashion-inspired session.
I feel grateful for where photography has taken me. It has allowed me to connect with people during important moments while continuing to grow as an artist. I’m still very much evolving, and that is one of the things I love most about this work.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Like many creative paths, photography requires a lot more than just loving the work. There is the artistic side, of course, but also the business side, marketing, pricing, client communication, editing, scheduling, and learning how to trust your own voice.
One of the biggest challenges has been finding my place as a photographer. I’m drawn to many kinds of portrait work, from families and proposals to more creative and fashion-inspired images, so it has taken time to understand how all of those interests can live together in a way that still feels clear and intentional.
Building a business also requires a lot of patience. There are seasons when things feel exciting and full of momentum, and other times when you question everything. I’ve had to learn not to measure my progress only by how busy I am, but by whether I’m growing, improving, and building something that feels true to me.
The road has had its challenges, but I’m grateful for them. They have helped me become more thoughtful, more adaptable, and more connected to the kind of work I want to create.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a portrait photographer based in Miami. My work includes family portraits, creative portrait sessions, surprise proposals, first birthdays, and special events. At the heart of everything I do is portraiture. I’m interested in people, their relationships, their expressions, their personalities, and the small moments that make an image feel real.
I would say I specialize in creating portraits that feel warm, elegant, and personal. I love beautiful light, thoughtful composition, and images that have a sense of story. Whether I’m photographing a family at the beach, a surprise proposal, or a more creative portrait session, my goal is always to make people feel comfortable and to create photographs that feel meaningful, not overly posed or disconnected.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the trust clients place in me during important moments. I’ve photographed proposals, milestone birthdays, families visiting Miami, and people who may not feel completely comfortable in front of the camera at first. When someone tells me they felt at ease, or that the photos captured something they truly recognize in themselves or their family, that means a lot to me.
What sets me apart is the combination of my background in art and film with a very human approach to photography. I care about lighting, composition, color, and visual storytelling, but I also care deeply about the experience of the person being photographed. I don’t want people to feel like they are simply being placed in front of a camera. I want them to feel seen, guided, and comfortable enough for something genuine to come through.
I’m also proud that my work continues to evolve. I’m especially interested in growing the more creative and fashion-inspired side of my photography, while still bringing that same care and emotional connection to every session I photograph.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think the photography industry is going to continue changing a lot over the next 5 to 10 years, especially with the growth of AI. We are already seeing how quickly technology can affect editing, retouching, marketing, and even image creation. I think photographers will have to learn how to use those tools wisely without losing their own voice.
At the same time, I believe real photography will become even more valuable. As people see more artificial or overly edited images, I think there will be a stronger desire for photographs that feel authentic, personal, and connected to real experiences. For portraits, especially, the human side of the work will still matter. A camera can capture how someone looks, but a photographer helps shape how they feel in that moment.
I also think clients will continue wanting images that feel natural but still beautiful and intentional. People are more visually aware than ever, and they want photographs that look polished without feeling stiff or impersonal. That balance between artistry and authenticity is something I think will become even more important.
For me, the future of photography is not just about keeping up with technology. It is about using the tools available while continuing to focus on connection, storytelling, and creating images that feel meaningful.
