Conversations with Tamar Gail

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamar Gail.

Tamar Gail

Hi Tamar, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Soon after graduating high school I began my career in Massage Therapy and working at a local spa in 1999. I was immediately drawn to its soothing atmosphere and the calming effect that it had on me. I eventually relocated to New Zealand where I became a director of a spa in Queenstown before coming back to Miami as a director of K’alma Spa in South Beach.

In 2014 I became certified and began my career as a doula, however, shortly after I moved to the French Alps where unbeknownst to me I wasn’t allowed to legally practice there. I was crushed and it left me trying to figure out how to move forward using my knowledge. I wanted to continue working for myself, doing something that I loved but I just didn’t know what that looked like. I was advised to figure out what I was passionate about.

I kept being told to find a niche, to find one thing, yet because I loved to do so many things this was proving to be difficult. So I sat down to journal and meditate looking for what was at the core of everything that I loved. What was the change that I wanted to see in the world? These questions led me down a very particular path that unfolded, little by little, over the span of a couple of years.

At the same time that I was searching for answers, I was also dealing with hormonal issues due to petrochemicals (found in almost everything!) and I was looking for a natural way to heal myself, so I studied and trained in women’s healing arts, eventually becoming a mentor and teacher to other women.

I continued my training in shamanism, under a powerful shamanic midwife from Australia, which took me on a deep immersion into the ‘Women’s Mysteries.’ The focus is: raising consciousness, supporting and reawakening deep feminine wisdom in order to create the opportunity for women to find within themselves the skills and abilities needed to move through their own transformation. Through this, I became a guide and educator who honors menstruation, pregnancy, birth, and menopause as the shamanic experiences they are in a woman’s life journey.

This experience was the catalyst for an incredible transformation for me. Halfway through my training, I went through a 3-day, 3-night water fasting solo vision quest in a forest in Wales. What a life-altering experience! It gave me insight into my next steps on my path and the vision quest became a journey that I now lead other women on after a year-long Initiation program that I offer.

From the time that I became a doula, there seemed to be a particular path I was taking. All of my studies seemed to be solely focused on women, so I continued to follow the path. I went to Thailand to study and became certified in a very particular style of yoga, yoga that was developed after my own teacher spent years living within communities studying tantra and kundalini yoga.

She realized that there was a deep need to develop a yoga style that took into account the anatomy and physiology of our female bodies and womanly experiences because we are wonderfully complex as women and so we need an approach to yoga that complements & supports that, (not one that diminishes it or has us question our built in feminine authority).

Following this I went even deeper into the mystery schools of the feminine arts, womb work, spiritual initiation, and healing of conception, gestation, and birth imprints (vital for opening to conscious creation, and also to healing our epigenetic blueprints). I share all of this because every part of my training, along with my own experiences, has become an integral part of the work that I do with women today. I have been initiating and empowering women since 2014.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road to get here. As it often happens what we teach has to at some point be integrated and learned wisdom. It has to be embodied and so everything that I teach I actually had to live and experience for myself. First, I had to heal my hormonal issues, I journeyed into my birth story, ancestral karma, sacred wound (inner child work), shadow work… you name it, I’ve been there, I’ve worked through it.

Yet, there are always deeper layers of the onion. I had hit a very difficult moment in my life a few years back and decided to step away from my practice so that I could focus on my own healing. The power in this is that I used all of the tools that I had been using with my clients, to heal myself. I became a living testament to my own work.

It seems I needed to integrate and embody my work on a whole other level, a deeper level. It has been incredible to witness, now, that when people meet me and learn about the work that I do their immediate response is them verbalizing that I am an embodiment of my work. This means a lot to me. This shows me that I am definitely on the right path in my life and doing the work I am called to do.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work is a deep dive into feminine mysteries. I bring ancient mystery school teachings of the feminine arts into the modern day. My focus is on spiritual initiation and evolution through the body. It has been my experience that we have everything  we need within us in order to heal, grow, and evolve.

This includes activating dormant codes within our DNA. I guide women through practices that allow them to show up in the world as the fullest, most turned-on, most powerful version of themselves through a process I developed called the Amara Method. Although I have been working internationally since 2014, I am currently focused more on bringing this work closer to home.

In my practice I guide women who feel unfulfilled and no longer know who they are, to reconnect with their inner wisdom, power, and magnetism. I also have a certification program, called the INITIATION where I teach and mentor heart-centered female leaders. This certification program is for those women who desire to incorporate the ancient mystery school teachings of the feminine arts into their lives and work.

My program is for those who desire to be of greater service to the spiritual healing and evolution of humanity, which is in deep need of those of us who can help create a sacred connection between the mind and body. This work upgrades their energy system on a deep cellular, DNA level. and guides them into tapping into their higher power. Unlocking their highest potential. I hold monthly Dark Moon Circles for women, which provides them an opportunity to build community and embrace personal empowerment within safe, loving connections.

The work that we do together once a month allows women a safe space to explore their subconscious. Leading to deeper levels of intuition, unconscious material, and potential. This potent lunar phase acts as a gateway to explore the unknown depths of our psyche and soul. I also teach yoga three days a week at the moment. They have an opportunity to join in person once a week and the rest of the week online.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have had so many supporters, cheerleaders, teammates, and mentors who have played big roles in my success. Gizella Turbok, Sarah Murphree, Natalie Kusturic, Dez Ballard, and my boyfriend Tony have all been huge supporters, cheerleaders, and advocates over the past year especially. My parents as well, although they don’t always understand my work they are always here for me, and for that, I am forever grateful.
