Conversations with Sophia Becker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia Becker

Hi Sophia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Sophia Becker, a content creator, model, and entrepreneur originally from Prior Lake, Minnesota. My journey began in the arts, dancing for 13 years and starting my modeling career at just six years old. Early on, I worked with brands like Target, Best Buy, and Dairy Queen. Even though I loved modeling, Minnesota lacked the creative environment I craved, so I often felt disconnected from my bigger ambitions.

I first turned to social media when I was 10, creating YouTube videos with my sister. That sparked my passion for content creation, but growing up in a small town, social media wasn’t taken seriously, and I felt judged for pursuing it. Despite stepping back, I always felt a pull toward the creative freedom it offered.

After high school, I pursued a degree in Business and Marketing while continuing to model and work various jobs. My path wasn’t always clear, but I knew I wanted to combine my passion for content creation with the business skills I was learning. It wasn’t until I met my partner, Mauro, that things really started to fall into place. Mauro, who’s from Argentina, and I began sharing our experiences as an international couple on TikTok. Our content, a mix of culture, comedy, and football, quickly resonated, especially within the Argentine community.

In 2023, we made a big leap and moved to Miami, chasing creative opportunities and a new lifestyle. It was a huge risk, leaving behind family and friends, but it felt like the right move. The first year in Miami was full of financial struggles and moments of self-doubt, but I knew I couldn’t turn back. I launched my business, Coalescence, focusing on UGC and lifestyle photography. It was terrifying leaving the stability of a job, but I knew I had to take the plunge to fully pursue my dreams.

Fast forward to 2024, I’ve worked with over 50 brands, including European Wax Center, Ashley Furniture, and Skims, while continuing to model and get the opportunity to work with amazing brands like Disney and Best Buy. Mauro and I have also built a following of over 390,000 people, collaborating with brands like Adidas, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Gran Centenario Tequila. I’m so proud of the journey, even with all its ups and downs.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. The road has been anything but smooth. It’s easy for people to look at our lives on social media and only see the highlights—the success stories, the partnerships, the fun lifestyle—but there’s so much more beneath the surface.

When Mauro and I first moved to Miami, we had no friends or connections here. Networking felt like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded. The isolation was real, and I was constantly reaching out to brands, and sending hundreds of DMs and emails, but most of the time, I was met with silence or rejection. There were so many nights where I questioned myself—wondering if I’d made a mistake leaving Minnesota and if this dream was worth all the hardship.

The financial strain during our first year in Miami was intense. I’d lie awake at night, overthinking every decision I’d made and feeling the pressure to make it all work. Self-doubt became a constant companion, and there were many days when I felt like maybe I wasn’t cut out for this. It’s hard to push through when your mind is filled with thoughts of failure, but I had to remind myself that growth doesn’t happen in comfort zones.

Looking back, the struggles were necessary—they built resilience and gave me the determination to keep going. Every rejection and obstacle made the victories that much sweeter. I’m grateful for the challenges because they’ve shaped who I am today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I wear many hats! I’m a model, content creator, entrepreneur, and influencer. My work spans across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. Right now, I’m probably best known for being the “yankee” dating an Argentine guy who’s deeply connected to his culture, and our content resonates strongly within the Argentine community.

One of the things I’m most proud of is taking the leap to explore a new direction in my life. I trusted myself enough to pursue a path that feels authentic to me, even though it hasn’t always been smooth sailing. The unique opportunities that have come from being my true self have been incredibly rewarding.

What sets me apart, especially in a city like Miami, is my commitment to authenticity. In a place where reinvention and persona-building are common, I’ve stayed true to who I am. This authenticity shines through in my content, whether it’s personal or client work. My goal is always to build genuine connections and showcase real personality through the content I create.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
First and foremost, my partner Mauro deserves so much credit. He’s been my rock throughout this journey—supporting me every step of the way, celebrating my wins, and pulling me through when self-doubt creeps in. His encouragement has been a constant source of strength and a reminder of why I started this journey in the first place.

My dad has also been a huge influence. He’s always the voice of reason, offering advice that has helped me through some of my toughest decisions. Whenever I’ve felt lost or uncertain, he’s been there to reassure me that everything will work out.

Mauro’s mom has been another key figure, always cheering me on from the sidelines and offering encouragement. Her support has been so meaningful, and I’m incredibly grateful for her. My sister, who’s also my best friend, has been a sounding board for every decision I’ve made since moving to Miami. Her excitement for our content and unwavering support have been invaluable.

Finally, I’ve met so many amazing creatives here in Miami—photographers, models, business owners—who’ve helped keep me connected to my passion. Whether through collaborations or just impactful conversations, they’ve kept me grounded and motivated. This circle of support has been vital in helping me grow both personally and professionally.
