Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Kelly.
Hi Sean, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started Cheeky Butlers with a simple idea — to bring fun, energy, and a little cheeky charm to events that people would never forget. At the time, I noticed that parties and celebrations often felt too formal or lacked that playful spark, so I decided to create an experience that was equal parts professional, entertaining, and just a little daring.
What began as a small idea quickly grew as people loved the concept — cheeky personalities, interactive service, and a focus on making guests laugh and feel comfortable. Word spread fast, and soon we were getting booked for birthdays, bachelorette parties, corporate events, and more.
Today, Cheeky Butlers has become more than just event staffing; it’s about creating memorable experiences. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but seeing people light up, laugh, and enjoy themselves reminds me why I started. And the best part? We’re only just getting started.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like with any business, there were challenges in the beginning — from figuring out how to market something a little “outside the box,” to building a team of butlers who not only looked the part but also had the personality, confidence, and professionalism to match.
There were moments where people didn’t quite understand the concept, or assumed it was something it’s not — so part of the journey was educating people and showing them that Cheeky Butlers is all about fun, laughter, and creating a safe, playful atmosphere at events.
Logistics were another hurdle — scheduling, training, and making sure every event went smoothly behind the scenes. But each challenge pushed me to get clearer on the brand, improve systems, and keep raising the bar. Looking back, the struggles were just stepping stones to shaping Cheeky Butlers into what it is today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create content and I am a movie producer on the side. I also specialize in music production. I’m most proud of creating things that are artistic, fun, and make people happy.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
For me, starting Cheeky Butlers was itself a big risk. The idea was unconventional — not everyone immediately “got it,” and there was always the question of whether people would embrace something cheeky and playful at their events. But I believed in the concept, and sometimes you have to take the leap before you’re 100% sure how it will land.
I see risk-taking as essential for growth. Every time you put yourself or your idea out there, there’s a chance it might not work — but there’s also the chance it could take off in a way you never imagined. One of the major risks was building a brand that walks the fine line between fun and professional. It meant carefully shaping the image of Cheeky Butlers so it’s entertaining without crossing into something people wouldn’t feel comfortable booking for their event.
My perspective is that risk isn’t about being reckless — it’s about being willing to step into the unknown, trusting yourself, and knowing that even if things don’t go perfectly, you’ll learn and grow. In the end, the biggest risk is often not trying at all.
