Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Rose.
Hi Nicholas, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started as a creative by being a very curious and observant child. I grew up in the rural area of Southern Trelawny, Jamaica. The lush vegetation and beautiful Hills, Rivers, and soil as always been a reference to my color palettes when I create and design art.
I decided to do art as a very serious business when I was a teenager and was exposed to portrait drawing and realized I could draw people around me and they were super excited about my special gift.
I, later on, realized that with this gift/talent coined with my professional work ethic and dedication, I would now be able to create not just portraits but any and every type of art project ranging from mural paintings to illustrations, digital work, and sculptures.
NRoseArtstudio was born out of this niche to be the most reliable and professional artist locally and internationally. Since then, live has catered to him with a variety of satisfied clients who give testimonials and recommend us for more creative projects.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a very productive road, there have been smooth periods and there have been a few obstacles.
However, the smooth patches have numbered the obstacles by far. Most of the obstacles had to do with the economy and the ability to source the ideal equipment materials promptly sometimes, however, the intuition and ability to improvise and the close partnership with clients have helped us to overcome all the challenges that were set before us.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work is a representation of thoughts feelings emotions that are inate or shared by my clients and I record and create a variety of artworks that can transcend through time. I specialize in drawings, paintings, sculptures, digital and new media works.
I am known for my line drawings and very historic mural paintings. I am most proud of the team efforts and collaborations I’ve done with other artists in Jamaica, the US, and Europe. The thing that sets me apart from others is my desire to create the best work I can create. I try to be unique and original at all times so that whatever work I create becomes timeless.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like most about your city is the numerous and variety of opportunities to share to showcase art. There is also a great appreciation and emphasis placed on the creatives.
There is nothing I can point to that I like least about this city as the weather and the people are very warm and similar to a lot of my native country.
