Today we’d like to introduce you to Nakishia R. Freeman
Hi Nakishia R., can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Freeprenuers, Inc was was establish December 2015 out of a need to reach Teen Girls, within the community who needed additional help and resources due to those resources not being easily attainable. At Freepreneurs, we are dedicated to empower girls ages 10-18 by developing crucial life skills, including social, emotional, and academic competencies. We instill resilience, mental health wellness, emotional intelligence, and life skills to prepare young girls to confidently and authentically tackle life’s challenges and seize opportunities through entrepreneurship. We strive to guide each girl towards realizing her fullest potential.
Our vision is to create a generation of young ladies who will develop into women that dream big, knows and activates her worth regardless of race, ethnicity, income level, social status and is nurtured and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
Our signature program that we started in 2020, is called Purposely Fitted Teen Bra Program and this program is designed to help underserved & underprivileged Teen girls learn the importance of wearing a correctly fitted bra, the importance of proper posture, breast health, gaining greater confidence, increased self- esteem, confidence and emotional & mental health while wearing their bra.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No. not at all, there have been obstacles, that we as a grassroots organization have faced in the past, such as having limited funding that covered workshops or events that the grant or fundraising didn’t cover; we have also experienced not having the resources needed to hire professionals to develop strategic plans for specific programs that were needed in order to help the teens. I could go on and on, but each and everyday, the team and I are learning how to navigate through these challenges so that we can continue our mission and scale up as we go so that we are a sustainable organization for years to come.
We are always in need of dedicated volunteers, we always accept in-kind donations such as toiletries, new bras, gift cards and monetary donations, so that we can continue reaching more teen girls who are less fortunate.

What’s surprising to many who don’t know me is that I was recently honored with The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in August 2024, for the work that we have been doing within the community and surrounding areas for the past 9 years.
