Conversations with Mila (Liudmyla) Krotova

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mila (Liudmyla) Krotova.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

I began my journey in the beauty industry many years ago with a strong passion for artistry, education, and continuous professional growth. Over time, I realized that one of the most meaningful parts of this profession is not only creating beauty, but helping artists develop confidence, artistic identity, discipline, and their own professional direction.

As my academy continued to grow in the United States, I had the opportunity to work with artists from different creative and professional backgrounds. What inspired me most was watching experienced professionals evolve beyond technical skill alone — transforming years of practice, artistic vision, and industry experience into their own educational systems and signature techniques.

Today, one of the most important parts of my work is supporting an environment where educators continue developing professionally while also openly sharing their knowledge, creative approaches, and professional experience with newer artists and fellow professionals. I believe modern beauty education should not simply follow trends, but help artists build strong technical foundations alongside artistic individuality.

In 2025, I especially focused on highlighting educators whose professionalism, artistic individuality, and long-term dedication to beauty education represented the evolving standards of modern beauty mentorship. Professionals such as Ilona Hradinaru, creator of the “ProTint Method,” Anna Orlova, creator of the “Orlova Championship Brow Technique,” and Anhelina Pohorielova, creator of the “ARTFORMULA Makeup Technique,” each represent unique artistic and educational systems developed through years of professional practice, creativity, discipline, and continuous growth.

What inspires me most is seeing artists transform their experience and creative vision into structured educational approaches that help other professionals strengthen technical understanding, artistic confidence, and professional individuality within the modern beauty industry.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t say the journey has been completely easy. Building a strong educational environment and growing within the beauty industry always comes with challenges, especially when you truly strive for high standards, professionalism, and long-term growth.

One of the most important goals for me was creating a space where artists could grow not only technically, but also professionally and creatively — an environment built on discipline, respect, support, and continuous development rather than competition alone.

Working with strong professionals also taught me that every artist evolves differently. Helping people develop their own style, confidence, and creative direction requires time, patience, and a strong educational foundation.

Another challenge was maintaining high standards while continuing to grow alongside a fast-changing industry. The beauty world constantly evolves, and staying consistent while continuing to develop creatively and professionally requires discipline, adaptability, and long-term vision.

Looking back, I realize that many of those challenges eventually became part of the growth process — not only for me personally, but also for the artists and educators who continue developing within our professional environment today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think one of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been working alongside artists and educators who are not only developing strong professional techniques, but are also contributing to the evolution of modern beauty education through individuality, discipline, and artistic vision.

Watching professionals build their own signature methods, refine their artistic direction, and continue evolving beyond standard beauty trends has reinforced my belief that strong education is built not only on technical skill, but also on originality, consistency, and long-term dedication to the craft.

Educators such as Ilona Hradinaru, creator of the “ProTint Method,” Anna Orlova, creator of the “Orlova Championship Brow Technique,” and Anhelina Pohorielova, creator of the “ARTFORMULA Makeup Technique,” each represent distinct artistic and educational systems developed through years of professional experience, advanced practice, and continuous artistic growth.

What inspires me most is seeing artists transform their knowledge, discipline, and creative vision into structured educational approaches that help other professionals strengthen technical understanding, artistic confidence, and professional individuality within the beauty industry.
