Hi Majela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My name is Majela Lopez. I am 28 years old. Mother of 2. Owner of PUSHGLAMOUR.INC. I am a professional makeup artist and a licensed full specialist. I specialize in all types of arts.
It can be on a face, on a nail, on a canvas, you give me a brush and it’s a wrap! I grew up in Miami. I started painting as a kid. I was a troubled kid so art was my escape and where I always felt at peace.
At 16, I decided I wanted to get into the beauty industry and By the age of 17, I was licensed as a professional makeup artist/FULL SPECIALIST, and ever since I have been expanding and seeing where my art takes me.
I’ve been in trouble with the law ever since a teen, I have made mistakes in my past, and I have learned from them. Being a young single mother of 2 while trying to accomplish my dreams. I am living proof that you can follow your dreams under any circumstances.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning, it’s always hard.
No one trusts your work. No one believes in you. So you have to really put the work in! It’s been blood sweat and tears behind my career.
Late nights and early mornings, no breaks. No sleep. But with consistency, and dedication I’ve grown and continue to grow every day.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in makeup and nails. I own a beauty salon in Miami.
Where I work full time doing nails. With makeup, I do pretty much everything, from basic all the way to special effects. I do acrylics and all types of nail art.
What I feel sets my art apart from others is the ability to understand what a client wants and being able to execute & the passion behind it.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was when the rest of my family came from Cuba to live in the United States. It was like 10 of us in 1 house and we stayed up all night. I’ll never forget it. Best memory.
