Conversations with Maddie Bee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maddie Bee.

Hi Maddie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I first started as a stylist, fresh out of college. I had no previous styling experience but knew this was the career path that I wanted to pursue so I reached out to Yaya Diaby, who at the time was just recently drafted to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite having no portfolio, Yaya trusted me and because of that I was able to build my portfolio and learn along the way. I worked primarily with professional athletes until 2025 when I started expanding my reach. I joined Legacy House Studio, as their in-house stylist. In this role, I now work for commercial clients such as: New Era, ThreadBeast, Octavious Marks, and Just Dishin. During this same time I started working in the runway world, working on shows for designers: Monday Blues, AKKI, Ahmrii Lorraine, and Hikari No Yami. I am grateful for every opportunity that has and continues to come my way and I am looking forward to what the future holds!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When pursing a creative career there will always be obstacles. When I first started the external growth was slow and I struggled with imposter syndrome. It would had been so easy to quit, but I knew where i was going and stayed committed to my vision. There were and still are days where doubts creep in, when that happens I ground myself in the reality i am building. You have to dream and stay committed to that dream.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a freelance wardrobe stylist. I work with professional athletes within the NFL, WNBA, and NHL. I also work on commercial projects, e-commerce, and runway styling.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck is an embodiment, it’s a mind set. I know things are always working out for me and I know that I am attracting the right people and the right opportunities at all times. From the outside it may look like luck, but there is a mental decision that happens behind the scenes.
