Hi Lyla, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I was a little girl I was fascinated by makeup and all things beauty. I loved watching my mom do her makeup and would tag along to all her beauty appointments. By the time I was 15, beauty tutorials were increasingly popular. It became a huge passion of mine to learn and watch beauty transformations on Youtube and other platforms. I fell in love with the art of brows & lashes. With the support of my mom, I decided to graduate early from high school & go directly into beauty school to get my esthetician license. It was the best decision I ever made. By 19 years old, I was a business owner. I launched my very own private spa providing clients the ultimate one on one spa experience. Lyla Brows & Beauty is turning 7 years old this June & I can’t thank my loyal clients enough that have been trusting me since I was 17. It has been a dream come true to own my own business & do what I’m passionate about every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a young & solo entrepreneur there has been challenges. It was difficult learning all the legalities of running a business as well as starting & running a website. My main obstacle however, has been finding the best quality products for my clients & creating the most optimal environment for my client’s lash extensions to last as long as possible. I’ve dealt with rental spaces that have been too humid or too dry causing retention issues for my clients. LED lash extensions has been a life saver for both my clients and I.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a certified, licensed & insured brow & lash artist. I specialize in brow threading & LED lash extensions. I also do permanent brows, brow henna & tint, lash lifts, makeup & facials. I am most proud of my gentle brow threading skills. What sets me apart from others is my attention to detail, my dedication to using quality products & the one-one luxury experience I provide my clients.
How do you think about happiness?
Seeing my clients happy, confident & relaxed after their appointment with me, makes me so happy because we all need & deserve to unwind & feel good about ourselves in this fast paced & stressful world.
