Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Abreu.
Hi Liz, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey with a simple love for creativity and capturing moments that felt real. What began as a passion quickly turned into something deeper—I found purpose in creating, connecting, and telling stories through my work. In the early stages, I didn’t have everything figured out, but I stayed consistent, trusted my vision, and kept showing up for myself.
Building my business hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been meaningful. Every challenge has shaped me, and every opportunity has reminded me why I started. Today, I’m proud of how far I’ve come—not just in what I’ve built, but in who I’ve become along the way.
In the light of this beautiful lifetime, I see my journey as something still unfolding. I’m growing, evolving, and continuing to create with intention, knowing this is only the beginning.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve faced moments of doubt, inconsistency, and figuring things out on my own with little guidance. There were times I questioned if I was moving fast enough or doing things the “right” way. But every obstacle taught me something—how to stay patient, how to trust my process, and how to keep going even when things felt uncertain.
Those challenges didn’t stop me, they shaped me. They pushed me to grow stronger, more focused, and more confident in my vision. Looking back, I wouldn’t change the journey, because every setback played a part in building the person and business I am today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer focused on capturing real, raw moments with a cinematic, luxury feel. I specialize in cars, lifestyle, and creative shoots that tell a story rather than just show an image. My work is known for its mood, detail, and ability to make everyday moments feel elevated and intentional.
What I’m most proud of is building my style from the ground up and staying true to my vision. What sets me apart is how I see things—I don’t just take photos, I create a feeling. Every shoot is about energy, presence, and making something that lasts beyond the moment.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I stay inspired and sharp by constantly learning and surrounding myself with creativity. I use apps like Lightroom to refine my work and keep my style consistent. I also listen to photography podcasts like The Candid Frame and Picture This, which focus more on the mindset and stories behind the work rather than just the technical side. (northrup.photo)
I draw a lot of inspiration from platforms like Instagram and creative communities like Fstoppers and LensCulture, where I can see different styles and perspectives from photographers around the world. (photostartsheet.com)
More than anything, my biggest resource is experience—going out, shooting, and learning through trial and error. That’s what continues to shape my eye and push my work forward.
