Conversations with Lindsey Harders

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Harders

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My professional journey started when I was seventeen and diagnosed with skin cancer. During the years that followed, I went in for routine skin checks and biopsies which provided valuable insight into what practicing dermatologic medicine could look like. I found my passion during these visits and that’s when I thought I had figured out my career.

At the age of 20 I was accepted into multiple PA schools with one goal in mind: become a Dermatology PA. During clinical year I was fortunate to be paired with two cosmetic Dermatologists which opened up my eyes to the world of aesthetic medicine. It was the perfect blend of science and beauty.

I graduated with my Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida at the young age of 23 and hit the ground running. Immediately after graduation I started my aesthetic residency with a renowned injector and trainer who had over twenty years experience in this industry. He, as well as several other trusted trainers, gave me the foundation I needed to kickstart my career.

Over the years I’ve continued training with top anatomists and injectable specialists around the world to continue developing my craft. I first became known for lip enhancement treatments before growing into a facial balancing specialist. I’m lucky to say that my clientele includes a range of people from neighbors to celebrities and people who live close enough to drive and far enough to fly. I’m grateful for the industry leaders who have taught me and because of that, decided to give back to the injector community by becoming a trainer myself.

Beyond injecting full-time, I now train privately for the training company I created 3 years ago as well as for two incredible aesthetic pharmaceutical companies. My goal is to help develop both beginner and advanced injectors to not only further improve this industry but also to provide patients with the best possible results. I’m a big believer in continued education and therefore continue to attend trainings multiple times a year to make sure I stay on the cutting edge of aesthetics for myself, my clients and my trainee’s.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course there have been hard times. Can you really excel in your career if you haven’t learned from a few speed bumps along the way? I believe that those trying moments teach us and help us grow into the person we’re meant to become.

When I started this career I was only 24 years old. My first job was working near the country’s largest retirement community so naturally my clients typically ranged from 55-75 years old. These ladies had a hard time trusting my 24 year old self with their face when technically speaking I wasn’t even legally able to rent a car. Eventually people saw my passion and understood my skillset but that of course took time, confidence and several beautiful before and after transformation photos.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m most proud of where I am today. I started this journey as an aspiring PA student with a dream of one day moving out of my small town to become an aesthetic injector. Here I am at 30 years old as a sought-after facial balancing specialist and trainer living in a beautiful city by the water. While working at a very popular local med spa, I also train for my own company as well as two leading aesthetic pharmaceutical companies. On top of my career success, I recently became a mom to my beautiful baby Theo who will always be my proudest accomplishment and the one that brings me the most joy.

It’s truly a “pinch me” moment. I’ve pushed forward for so long that sometimes it’s nice to sit back and see what all of the hard work accomplished. That being said, I continue to establish new goals and always set the bar high so I can strive to be the best that I can be.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Perseverance. It’s cliche but when one door closes you have to find out how to open the next door and don’t give up until you do. It’s really easy to take the easy and comfortable path especially when you’re tired and feeling burnt out. To work hard and pave a new way is significantly more difficult but far more rewarding.
