Conversations with Laysa Cazares

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laysa Cazares.

Hi Laysa , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been a licensed nail tech for 10 years. I started at 19 yrs old. I’ve always loved art and nails and when I realized I could combine both it was over. It’s been hard work to get where I am at now. But I finally can confidently say I am a master at my craft. Years of practice and dedication has gotten me where I am today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When I first started there was not a lot of nail art salons. Most jobs were basic manicures and pedicures. So it was hard to find a place that would teach you nail art and allow you to grow. I also wasn’t good at my craft when I first started. It took a lot of practice and believing in myself to get where I am now.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am most proud of my growth and perseverance. I think what sets me apart from others is that I don’t give up. I wasn’t very good at nails when I first started but I knew I what I wanted the end goal to be so I stuck to it.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Yes I consider myself a risk taker. A couple years ago I moved to Miami and started completely over with no clients. It was the biggest risk I had taken in my career up until that point. But with consistency and self belief I made it. I grew my clientele in about a year and was completely booked up.
