Conversations with Johnny Faraće

Today we’d like to introduce you to Johnny Faraće.

Hi Johnny, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve boxed competitively since I was 9 years old — and my last fight was just last year in Las Vegas at 55. What started as a way to stay out of trouble became the foundation for everything I am today. Through the years, boxing taught me discipline, focus, and how to stand tall no matter what life throws your way.

Competing in the USA Boxing Masters Division (Over 35) reignited that fire and opened new doors. I’ve been blessed to win numerous world championships, receive Boxer of the Year honors, and be nominated for the International Masters Boxing Hall of Fame, which will be announced later this year. Those experiences motivated me to become a certified professional boxing trainer, allowing me to share everything I’ve learned with others.

Today, through Johnny Faraće Boxing, I help everyday people transform physically and mentally — teaching real boxing while building confidence, focus, and inner strength. My mission is to help people discover the same power and purpose boxing gave me — to walk through life like a fighter, inside and outside the ring.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not a smooth road — but that’s what made it worth it. Boxing has always been a mirror for life. You take hits, you get knocked down, and you learn to stand back up stronger every time. I’ve faced injuries, setbacks, and plenty of moments where I had to completely rebuild from scratch — personally and professionally.

There were times I questioned if I could keep going, but every challenge ended up shaping the coach and person I’ve become. The ring taught me that pressure creates strength — and that lesson carries over into everything I do today. When I train my clients, I remind them that it’s not supposed to be easy. Growth never is. But if you stay disciplined and keep your guard up, you can fight through anything.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Outside the ring, I’m a professional guitarist and performer for GODSMACKED – The Ultimate Godsmack Tribute. Music has always been my therapy and my creative outlet — a space where I can channel the same intensity, focus, and emotion that boxing taught me. Our shows are high-energy, full-production performances that pay tribute to one of rock’s most powerful bands, and I’m proud to bring that same level of passion to every stage we hit.

What sets me apart is my commitment to excellence — whether I’m training a client or dialing in a guitar tone, I approach it with the same mindset: discipline, emotion, and purpose. I’ve spent years studying performance, sound design, and production to create an authentic, arena-quality experience for fans.

I’m most proud of the balance I’ve built between both worlds — boxing and music. One fuels the other. The discipline from the gym keeps me sharp on stage, and the creativity from music keeps my heart in the fight.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe the boxing and fitness industry is heading toward a major evolution. People want access, convenience, and personalization — all without losing the authenticity of real boxing. Over the next decade, I envision technology playing a larger role in how we train, track progress, and stay motivated.

We’re already seeing the rise of interactive training systems and virtual classes, but I think the next wave will combine authentic boxing instruction with automated guidance and feedback. That’s something I’m deeply focused on developing with an upcoming project — a high-tech training experience that allows people to learn and train like a fighter anywhere, anytime.

The future of boxing fitness will blend tradition with technology — keeping the roots of the sport alive while making it accessible to the next generation of champions.
