Conversations with Jenelli “Gigi” Agresti

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenelli “Gigi” Agresti

Hi Jenelli “Gigi”, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
They say great things happen when you least expect them and when you don’t plan for them.

All through college I worked at a small family owned restaurant. The owner of that restaurant, Becky Prieto, gave me the opportunity to design her off-site catering events. I fell in love with details and all the logistics that went into planning these large scale events. I loved how every event was so different, the challenges were different but the end result was so rewarding. Almost 13 years ago, Becky said to me, “You should do this.” We sat in her office and within 15 minutes we figured out a name and were ordering business cards online. The rest is history!

When I started it was all trial and error, a lot of sweat, many lessons and no social media. All roads led me to where I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Success isn’t built by walking a smooth road.

Like everyone that starts a new venture, the uncertainty was always in the back of my mind but my ambition for being the best I can be would tell that little voice to be quiet!!

The first seven years of Events by Gigi I had a full time job in the corporate world. I’m so thankful for that opportunity but juggling both my small business, full time job and everything in between felt like was wearing more hats than I can handle. I felt this constant pressure to be perfect until one day I realized that the only one putting pressure on me was myself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In a few words, we bring to fruition life’s most beautiful moments and celebrations.

Events by Gigi specializes in weddings. Focusing on curating events above beyond what our couples have envisioned. We offer a unique blend of event management, guest management and event design.

We focus on the details people will remember and the experiences that will come up in conversations for years to come.

I’m incredibly proud of every project we have had the opportunity to work on throughout the years. Every couple and family that instills their trust in us is invaluable.

I’m confident that what sets us apart is our customer service and attention to detail. In this line of work the margin for error is so small and every single detail matters.. big or small.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In our industry trends come and go like a revolving door. It’s hard to tell where we’ll be in a few years but I’m excited to see where we’re headed.
