Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayshawn Bull.

Jayshawn Bull

Hi Jayshawn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Ive been making music since i was 9 Years Old my first artist name was “Jay9” I’ll never forget it. My cousin use to come to the house with random people and make me freestyle on the spot, overtime it became an Easy way to express myself. From there middle school and high school was all about beating on the tables rapping and rap battling others it was a full joy. Right out of high school I decided to take things seriously with a group of friends but overtime life caught up with us and we all started doing our own thing. So I went into business with a a business owner that we all knew and ended moving to Fl. 2/3 years later i ended up on my own again but One thing that has never changed about me is my love for music.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Only thing smooth about the road was the music i made. I remember spending my last just to go to the studio for 2 hours . Struggling to find a way to even get there. Struggling to find a way to get to a show. Even when my music career did take a turn for the better after my feature with lil baby I lost one of the closes people to me over jealously just for lil baby’s team to no clear my record. Then there was that time when Kanye west invited us to the dome to talk about manufacturing my clothes from a album I did called til infinity to him even going behind me back and using my logo for himself. The road has been anything but smooth

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make Rasta rock music. It’s the teaching of Rastafari which is love , livity and righteousness in hip hop music. The rock comes from how rock and roll celebrates which I feel like is the ultimate expression. I am known for plenty of things but what I want to be known for the most is making people understand that you can talk about the goodness of god in a Cool way to and that is what sets me apart from everyone else .

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Covid-19 was a time for solitude which was needed I wouldn’t call it a crisis at all because a lot of people found themselves during that time. A lot of people drew closer to god. People started to realize that even with all the money in the world without something higher than yourself it all doesn’t matter.
