Conversations with Isabella Mayer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Mayer

Isabella, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Isabella, I started in photography before I even realized it. Since I was a child, I loved photographing and filming everything. My parents had a camera and I was always around when they were recording something. I dressed my dog in costumes and made photo books with him in the days of floppy disk cameras.
I never imagined that one day I would work with this, especially because I lived in a rural city with 10 thousand inhabitants, with no prospects. However, I have always been a dreamer. Since I was 11 years old I was sure that I wanted to be a journalist even though I didn’t even have a college less than 100km from where I lived.
At 14 I moved to the capital of my state and was then able to study journalism after school. It was my graduation.
In college my focus was audiovisual and since then I have struggled a lot to work in this area. It was a lot of hard work and a lot of no’s.
I worked on everything until I got a better opportunity in the field of visual journalism.
Since then, I have been satisfied with the most successful choice of my life, which was the audiovisual field. Having a camera in my hands means having the power to freeze any moment I record for eternity. It’s a magical feeling that doesn’t go away. I am very grateful for all the achievements over the years, for all the improvements and for each client who trusted me and my work to get me to this day.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
not at all calm. It took 4 years after graduating to get my first relevant opportunity in my field. I received many rejections along the way, which made me even more persistent.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an audiovisual journalist. I work with photos and videos. From production to capture and editing

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
having my family close by and being able to travel the world recording and seeing new places is what makes me happy
