Today we’d like to introduce you to icon303.
Hi icon303, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started as a fateful encounter at a dive bar in Upstate New York. The owner of a bar where I worked told me to clock out and go hang out with his friend down the street at another watering hole. That friend of his became a brother of mine and my future publisher. I felt a level of acceptance I never had and ran down the track toward the finish line of never-ending creation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were plenty of struggles along the way, mostly financial ones. You can’t advertise to “x” amount of people for less than “y” amount; you can’t make this until you can afford that; when does this “free trial” end? But to overcome is a blessing. Perseverance, ambition, a little creativity, and a lot of not having another route makes all dreams come true.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an artist and poet. I have published over 10 books and have no intentions of stopping any time soon. I have a fine art collection up for sale and various other revenue streams.
I would have to say I’m most proud of both my art collection and my books, “Oracle of Radical Truths, Part 1&2,” a dissertation on the continued problem with police brutality and one of the only books to list everyone that there was information to find who was killed by police.
What sets me apart? Nothing, everything. It’s a confusion of societal needs and norms.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Bothering The Band is one of the most important podcasts of recent times. It’s peaceful, it’s funny, it’s charming. I listen to it almost every day.
