Conversations with Geronima

Today we’d like to introduce you to Geronima.

Hi Geronima, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story began in the church at just three years old. Before I fully understood purpose, I knew I loved to sing. Singing became one of the first ways I connected with God. Church was not just a place I attended it was where I grew, where my faith was nurtured, and where seeds of purpose were planted inside of me long before I understood what God was preparing me for.

As a little girl, I did not realize that what felt natural to me would one day become ministry. Singing was never just about music; it was about worship, encouragement, and allowing God to use my voice to touch others. Looking back, I can see how God was already shaping my heart, teaching me compassion, strengthening my faith, and preparing me for more than I could imagine.

As I got older, my relationship with God deepened. I began to recognize that there was a greater calling over my life. I realized I was not only called to minister through song, but that God had placed a prophetic calling on my life. With that calling came responsibility, growth, discernment, and a desire to help others heal, grow, and walk boldly in who God created them to be.

My passion has always been people. I genuinely love helping others discover their gifts, recognize their value, and step into their God-given purpose. There is something powerful about seeing someone go from doubting themselves to fully embracing the calling on their life. I believe everyone was created for a reason, and part of my purpose is helping people see what God already placed inside of them.

Education became another important part of my journey. I wanted to grow spiritually, creatively, and professionally so I could serve at a greater level. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Theology, which strengthened my understanding of scripture, ministry, leadership, and spiritual growth. My hunger for knowledge and creativity also led me to earn my Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Media Arts, allowing me to combine vision, storytelling, branding, and creativity to bring ideas to life.

Over time, I realized creativity was not separate from ministry it was part of my calling. God gave me an eye for aesthetics, design, branding, and media. Whether creating graphics, helping ministries and businesses build their image, or bringing visions to life, I learned that excellence matters. I believe what represents a vision should reflect purpose, integrity, and beauty.

At the same time, my husband Esau Wagnac and I made it our mission to give back whenever we could. One thing that remains close to our hearts is feeding the homeless. We believe ministry happens both inside and outside of church walls. Every week when possible, we try to serve those in need because we believe compassion, love, and action reflect the heart of God.

The journey has not always been easy. Like many women building something meaningful, there have been obstacles, moments of growth, sacrifices, and seasons that required faith. But every challenge taught me resilience. Every setback strengthened me. And every season reminded me that purpose often requires perseverance.

Today, I stand as a woman of faith, a creative visionary, a businesswoman, a mentor, a worshipper, and someone committed to helping others walk in purpose. I am still growing, still learning, and still becoming everything God has called me to be.

I am more than my titles or accomplishments. I am a woman of God who believes in purpose, serves with compassion, creates with excellence, and leads with faith. My story is still being written, and I believe the best is still ahead.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road getting to where I am today. I have faced many obstacles and encountered people who doubted me and tried to discourage me along the way. What kept me going was my faith in God and the confidence that I am who God called me to be not what man said about me.

One of my favorite verses that has carried me through difficult seasons is, Jeremiah 1:8 “Be not afraid of their faces.” That scripture has strengthened me through every challenge. Despite the negative voices, the naysayers, the haters, and even the frenemies, I refused to give up. I pushed past every word curse and every opinion that did not align with what God has destined for my life.

Today, I stand as a testimony that God’s purpose will always prevail when you trust Him and keep moving forward in faith.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a graphic designer, worship leader, gospel artist, and entrepreneur/event planner with a passion for creativity, communication, and serving others. I specialize in brand identity design, marketing materials, and visual storytelling that help businesses and individuals communicate their message in a clear and impactful way.

With over six years of experience in design, I enjoy creating work that is both visually appealing and purposeful. I was blessed to be the one who planned my entire wedding ceremony last year December and every detail came to life with simplicity and elegance. With a B.A. degree in graphic design, it has allowed me to continue refining my skills and expanding my knowledge of branding, advertising, and digital media.

What I am most proud of is my ability to persevere through challenges while continuing to grow in my career, education, ministry, and personal life. Balancing multiple responsibilities has taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of staying committed to my goals.

What sets me apart is my combination of creativity, faith, and authenticity. I approach every project with a desire to create meaningful work that connects with people and tells a story. Whether I am designing a brand, creating marketing materials, or leading worship, I strive to bring excellence, purpose, and a unique perspective to everything I do.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I grew up taking self-defense classes and was only two belts away from earning my black belt in Taekwondo. Unfortunately, after my instructor passed away, I stopped training and finished with my green belt. However, earning my black belt is still a personal goal of mine, and I plan to return to training and complete that journey in the near future.
