Conversations with Flor Vasil

Today we’d like to introduce you to Flor Vasil.

Hi Flor, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Since I was a little girl growing up in Buenos Aires, I always dreamed of having my own flower shop. Even while building a corporate career and spending more than 25 years in executive positions, that creative dream never left me.

About a year ago, during a pause in my career and while going through some personal challenges, I decided it was finally time to make that dream a reality. I realized life was giving me the opportunity to reconnect with something that truly made me happy and fulfilled.

One of my biggest inspirations has always been my father. He taught me that anything is possible if you do it with passion, quality, purpose, and a clear vision. He always encouraged me to work hard, believe in myself, and surround myself with good people who share the same values and energy.

That mindset became the foundation of Flora Flower Bar. For me, it’s not only about flowers — it’s about creating meaningful experiences, bringing people together, and making others feel special through beauty and connection.

Today, seeing Flora grow from a dream into a business that collaborates with brands, weddings, hotels, and community events feels incredibly rewarding, especially knowing it was built from passion, resilience, and purpose.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Like many small businesses, especially creative businesses, there have been a lot of challenges behind the scenes. Starting Flora Flower Bar meant stepping into something completely different after spending more than 25 years in the corporate world. Even though I had business experience, building a brand from the ground up is a very personal journey.

In the beginning, I was doing everything myself — sourcing flowers, setting up events, managing logistics, marketing, social media, client communication, and learning the floral industry at the same time. There were long days, stressful moments, and a lot of uncertainty, especially while also navigating personal challenges in my life.

One of the biggest struggles has been balancing creativity with the operational side of the business. Flowers are beautiful, but they are also highly perishable, seasonal, and time-sensitive, so every event requires planning, flexibility, and problem-solving. There are also moments where you doubt yourself, especially when starting something new later in life after already having an established corporate career.

But every challenge has helped me grow stronger and more resilient. I truly believe passion and purpose keep you moving forward. Seeing people smile, interact with the flowers, and connect emotionally with the experience reminds me why I started. Those moments make all the hard work worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Flora Flower Bar, we specialize in creating elevated floral experiences that are interactive, stylish, and memorable. We are known for our mobile flower bars, floral carts, luxury event activations, and curated floral installations for weddings, corporate events, hotels, retail brands, and private celebrations across South Florida.

What makes Flora different is that we focus on the experience just as much as the flowers themselves. Guests don’t simply receive flowers — they interact with them, create their own bouquets, take photos, connect with others, and become part of the moment. Our mini flower truck and floral carts naturally create energy, conversation, and emotion wherever they go.

We are also known for creating visually elevated setups with carefully curated color palettes, premium seasonal blooms, and attention to detail that aligns with each client’s vision and brand identity. Over time, we expanded beyond flowers into full lifestyle experiences that now include flower walls and luxury photo booth experiences that pair beautifully with our floral concepts.

What I’m most proud of is building Flora from a lifelong dream into a recognizable and growing brand that creates happiness and meaningful memories for people. I’m proud that people connect emotionally with what we do. Watching guests smile, slow down, enjoy the scent and beauty of the flowers, and genuinely connect with the experience is something very special to me.

I also could not have done this alone. The support from my friends and the loving people by my side has meant everything throughout this journey. Starting a business comes with many sacrifices, challenges, and moments of doubt, and having people who believed in me, encouraged me, and supported my dream gave me the strength to continue moving forward.

I believe my corporate background also helped shape the business in a unique way. It gave me the ability to combine creativity with professionalism, organization, strong client relationships, and high-quality execution. I care deeply about every detail and about creating experiences that feel intentional, elegant, and personal.

What truly sets Flora apart is the heart behind it. Every event is created with passion, purpose, and the desire to bring beauty, connection, and positive energy into people’s lives.

What does success mean to you?
For me, success means building something meaningful that brings joy and connection to people. It’s about waking up every day passionate about what I do and seeing how Flora Flower Bar creates beautiful moments and positive energy through flowers and experiences.

Success is also having the courage to follow my dream, staying true to my purpose, and being surrounded by supportive friends and loved ones who believed in me along the way.
