Conversations with Fabiola Hernandez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabiola Hernandez.

Hi Fabiola, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am 19 years old and I am a photographer based here in South Florida. Growing up, I watched a lot of youtube. as I hit my pre-teen years, I found myself gravitating towards cinematic videos. I started creating with my family and friends. I would do mini shoots with them and it allowed me to become confident in my craft. Till this day, I still create with my friends and try new ideas to avoid creative burnout. I continue to grow, meet new people and learn because those are things that will never stop happening. I pray that my art is impactful and inspirational.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’d be lying if I said it was all rainbows and sunshines. Don’t get me wrong, photography is a passion of mine and has brought me joy, but once I realized that it could become something that can help me grow financially, I began to doubt my craft and my purpose. My own thoughts become my worst enemy and stopped me from creating. I allowed negative thoughts to get the best of me and it took me down a dark road, the only way I was able to get out of that dark place was to find my identity in someone that is firm. I Thank God because he always reminded me that I was created in his image. I am creative like him and it is a gift that I should give back. that I should serve and be the reflection of his light. He gave me the confidence that I need for my photography business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in photography. I love everything about it. I love the process of finding ideas, setting up, executing them, and post-production. Finalizing the photos is what I like to call the cherry on top. It adds whatever I think might be missing and allows me to add more character to the photos. I’m proud that I’ve become more aware of the concept of growth. That I know that I can’t stay stagnant and that taking care of myself plays a big role in my creativity. What I believe sets me apart is not necessarily my talents but mostly in who I believe in. I believe that God has a calling for everyone tailored to them. Yes, we are all human beings and there are many creatives out there, but what makes us different is how we express it because each of us have been gifted a different purpose.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I think my ability to see all sides and resolve other people’s conflict because I have a really hard time solving my own conflict.
