Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Patricia Gomez and Dr. Mike Tonry.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Both Dr. Gomez and I came from different backgrounds and we specialize in different things as well. When we were developing our business plan, one core value we kept falling back on was building a Culture in our community.
We want to learn about our member’s stories, we want to meet the family, and if we are lucky be invited to the barbecue! In all seriousness, we want to be the go-to spot where people in Coral Springs and the surrounding area can feel safe, heard, and most importantly heal.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anytime you venture out of your comfort zone, the road is going to be somewhat rocky. We believe the biggest roadblock would be overcoming “imposters syndrome”. Being young entrepreneurs there is so much we just don’t know.
Recognizing it, reframing our thinking, surrounding ourselves with people who support us, and just taking action has been the biggest game changer for us. It’s all about being comfortable with being uncomfortable.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What we love about being chiropractors is that we really are able to express our passion and artistry in our work. At Culture Chiropractic, we can treat a wide range of the population due to our specialties. Dr. Patricia is one of the few chiropractors in South Florida that focuses solely on moms and babies. Being a pediatric, prenatal, and postpartum chiropractor means creating a safe space for moms and babies to heal naturally.
We love being known for being an alternative resource to that community, which is tremendously underserved. Dr. Mike’s passion lies in treating athletes. His goal is to help you truly understand where your pain or problem is stemming from, and then guiding you through a plan to solve it long-term. At Culture Chiropractic we call that finding the ROOT cause.
Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
First and foremost, find a mentor with the same values as you and is where you want to be. Once you find that person be a sponge. Don’t think, just do! It’s all about action starting out.
Once you see that it is possible the process accelerates and that’s when true growth occurs. Networking is all about connections. We have a rule starting out to say yes to as many opportunities as possible. You never know what connection might change your practice.
