Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jasmine Mabjeesh.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I, Dr. Jasmine Mabjeesh started my journey here in Miami for my undergraduate studies and then journeyed out to Morgantown, WV for dental school to become a doctor of dental surgery. I moved back to the sunshine state after graduating and practiced as a dentist initially in the city of Palm Bay, Fl.
After working in corporate dentistry, I decided to come back down to the home roots of Miami, Fl. near family & friends and begin to build my own private holistic dental practice. I now serve and help heal my family of patients in the Palmetto Bay area of Miami under my practice known as TranscenDENTAL Studio.
I deliver holistic dental care which takes into account the whole body (& the way the oral cavity affects it), biocompatible & safe materials used in dental work, nutrition, honesty & daily habits of patients which affect oral healthcare.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It most definitely has not been a smooth road, it was a struggle, in the beginning, to build the practice up into a busy schedule, and learn how to run a business from scratch on my own (they never taught us the business side of dentistry in school) to find and gather a reliable & trustworthy team to work side by side with, to gain the trust from patients from such a “young” doctor at the time (being 26 years old), and learning the patience needed to build up a successful business, & also learning how to calm down and stabilize very anxious & nervous dental patients.
It’s been a wild journey, but one filled with so much growth, reward, strength, & success. The most rewarding part has been helping patients heal & become happy with their smiles & being able to chew, speak, & smile with confidence, as well as patients referring so many family and friends our way, shows us all the trust they have within us, which makes it all worth it.
When they voice how grateful they are for us and that they’re “not scared of coming to the dentist anymore.” is the BEST thing I repeatedly hear, it makes me love what I do, because it’s not JUST dentistry, it’s art, engineering, therapy, patience, & empathy. A dental chair is a very fragile and sensitive place to be sitting, so it’s so relieving when we can make them feel at ease.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a General Holistic dentist, I do dental work ranging from fillings, crowns, dentures, Invisalign, bridges, veneers, whitening, extractions, nightguards, implant crowns, safe amalgam removal, partial dentures, retainers, etc. to list some of them.
I’m most proud of being an honest, empathetic, and patient-provider. I commit time to my patients, without running around patient to patient, we bring our patients into their appointment in a timely fashion, we are honest with our patients about their options and finances, and I spend the time to make sure my work is completed fully & greatly.
I’m also very proud to create a more personal bond with my patients, it creates more trust, and not treat them just like a number, but as an important humans, not just “another” patient or payment. What sets me apart from other dentists, is the time & heart I dedicate to each patient.
I truly spend time getting to know them more, and assessing all of them, and then that allows me to diagnose better and come up with solutions to better long-term oral care, which includes nutrition, personal habits of patients, assessment of medications patients take when he affects their oral health, and also the psychological state of patients and their home health care.
Also, the way I operate my practice, and the materials I use and don’t use are a huge part of what sets us apart, we don’t use any fluoride, metals, or other materials that can hurt the body systemically.
