Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Nelson-Pluviose.

Hi Danielle , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into private nursing and home care began long before I founded Deluxe Private Nursing, LLC. It started with caring for my own mother during her illness. During that time, I experienced firsthand how challenging it can be to find compassionate, reliable, and skilled care at home. That experience deeply shaped me and showed me just how essential dignity, trust and quality care truly are.
With more than 22 years of experience as a registered nurse in home health, rehabilitation, critical care and post-surgical settings, I knew I wanted to build something different, something more personal, more dependable and truly centered around the client and their family. That vision led me to create Deluxe Private Nursing, along with Deluxe Homemaker & Companion Services. Both businesses are proudly based on Okeechobee Boulevard in Royal Palm Beach, serving the surrounding communities.
My goal has always been to provide families with the same level of care, respect and peace of mind that I once wished for my own loved one. Today, I am honored to serve individuals and families throughout Palm Beach County and South Florida, offering private duty nursing, post-operative recovery support and personalized in-home services.
Helping clients remain safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes brings me deep fulfillment. Every client reminds me why I chose this path, to serve with compassion, dignity and excellence and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like most entrepreneurial journeys, it has not been a smooth road. Building a healthcare business from the ground up comes with many challenges, especially in a highly regulated industry. From navigating licensing, compliance and insurance requirements to securing office space, staffing and funding, every step required persistence, patience and faith.
One of the biggest challenges was balancing my role as a full-time nurse, business owner and caregiver while still showing up fully for my clients and my family. There were moments of uncertainty, financial pressure and self-doubt, especially in the early stages.
Another major hurdle was earning trust in a competitive market. Families are trusting you with their loved ones and that responsibility is sacred. I had to work tirelessly to build credibility, relationships and a reputation for excellence, one client at a time.
There were also periods of setbacks and delays, whether due to regulatory changes, staffing shortages, or unexpected personal challenges but each obstacle strengthened my leadership and sharpened my vision.
Every challenge taught me resilience, adaptability and the importance of staying grounded in purpose. Today, those experiences allow me to better support not only my clients, but also other caregivers and entrepreneurs who are walking a similar path.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe my success has been driven by luck alone. It has been shaped by faith, hard work and preparation. There have been moments of good timing and unexpected opportunities that I’m grateful for but they came because I was ready to step up and do the work.
I have also experienced setbacks that some might call bad luck. Those moments challenged me, strengthened my resilience and helped me grow as a leader and business owner. They taught me patience, adaptability and perseverance.
Every experience good or difficult has played a role in shaping my journey. I learned that consistency, integrity and purpose matter more than luck.
