My name is Dalis India, and I’m an independent music artist originally from the heart of New York City. I recently made the move to Miami, Florida to fully immerse myself in the pursuit of my music career—and it’s been an incredible journey so far. Over the past few months, I’ve had the chance to perform at venues across the Miami area, connecting with new audiences and continuing to grow as an artist. Music has been a part of my life since I was about five years old, when I first picked up an instrument. Since 2019, I’ve been laser-focused on honing my craft as a recording artist and performer. My sound blends a wide range of genres, including R&B, Hip-Hop, Alternative, Pop, and Soul—each track is a reflection of the different influences that have shaped me.
My ultimate dream? To perform on major festival stages, travel the world sharing my music, and one day bring home a Grammy. It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but honestly, I didn’t expect it to be. Being an independent music artist means you’re wearing every hat imaginable. You’re your own team. There’s no blueprint, no big budget, no safety net. You’re creating, promoting, managing, and funding everything on your own, just hoping that someone outside your circle will see the vision.
One of the hardest parts is putting your heart into your work and knowing that not everyone who says they support you is actually showing up for you. There’s a lot of silent support out there—people who will compliment your music in private but won’t stream it, share it, or talk about it publicly. And while no one owes you anything, that kind of disconnect can be tough when you’re grinding every single day to be seen and heard.
Still, what keeps me going is the belief in what I’m building and the connection I’m slowly forming with people who *do* resonate with the music. For independent artists, community isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s the foundation. We don’t have major label budgets or huge promo campaigns. What we *do* have is hustle, heart, and a deep need to be understood. That’s what makes the journey worth it.

I’m a genre-blending independent music artist who goes by the name Dalis India. My work is rooted in storytelling—whether it’s through smooth R&B vocals, soulful melodies, raw hip-hop flows, or alternative-pop sounds, I aim to create music that resonates on a deeper level. I’ve been an instrumentalist since I was five years old, which gave me a strong foundation and a real love for sound early on. Since 2019, I’ve been focused on fully developing my identity as an artist, and I’ve grown into someone who’s not afraid to experiment with different genres or speak truth through music.
One thing I’m really proud of is how far I’ve come without a label or a major machine behind me.
