Conversations with Chris Agro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Agro.

Hi Chris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my career as a mechanical artist at the first Graphic Design studio in Fort Lauderdale. I launched my business in 1986 providing print and design products.

When the internet started, I expanded my services to website design and search engine optimization
Later, adding domain management, website hosting, local search, and Reviews Management.

Today I provide my services while traveling this great country from our Class A RV.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Having employees, moving locations, being the agency of record for a national medical management account, being featured in local newspapers as an SOHO business, and transitioning from brick and mortar to running a business from an RV on the road. It has been a fun ride and I am still on it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I feel I have a strong creative side coupled with a head for business. My customers have often mentioned that I am a good listener.

I once was hired to rebuild the Dole Foods logo, which was cool. I was also invited to visit the captain of a Mobil Oil tanker docked inside Port Everglades for a project. But I am most proud of remaining in business for more than 39 consecutive years.. and still counting!

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Looking back I would say my biggest risk was deciding to leave my cushy job at the Design Studio to start my own business. Since then I have been more tolerant toward risk taking.

In 2008 when the market crashed we were forced to sell our house and start our next chapter living in the RV.

I look for signs and I am no afraid to see where they lead. It has been a philosophy that has served me well.
